Our Opportunity:Chewy is looking for an Associate Director, Talent Management to drive strategic talent initiatives across Chewy’s 18,000+ Team Member base! The ideal candidate that will build and deploy innovative HR programs that differentiate Chewy as a world-class organization and as a magnet for outstanding talent. As a leader in Talent Management, you will have the chance to take on larger HR leadership opportunities over time through delivering a consistent track record of results that improve our talent practices. You will report to the Director, Talent Management in our global HR department.

 

What you'll do:

  • Lead a portfolio of highly impactful enterprise-wide talent management initiatives that enable our leaders to continuously drive higher levels of engagement and performance through an integrated set of strategic talent practices
  • Conceptualize the objectives and ultimate “vision” for talent initiatives based on external insights and internal feedback from senior leaders, Team Members, and HR partners
  • Craft the strategic approach and lead project implementation from start to finish
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and other relevant teams along the project lifecycle to ensure initiatives are delivering outstanding results to the business
  • Report progress on key initiatives, barriers to success, risk mitigation tactics, and any other issues to ensure projects are continuously moving forward
  • Define ways to measure the success of the initiatives that demonstrably improve Chewy’s abilities to attract, engage, retain, and develop high potential/performing talent
  • Run relevant programs or processes after implementation to a stable level of maturity
  • Determine the resources (head count, budget, systems, etc.) for initiatives to be sustained long-term and manage a smooth transition of projects to steady state programs

 

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; concentration in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, engineering, sciences, or similar field preferred; MBA or similar master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience leading, managing, and driving large-scale transformational projects
  • Specific experience in strategically oriented HR or Talent Management roles a plus
  • Experience owning the execution post-transformation and delivering sustainable results
  • Experience building and operating in highly effective cross-functional collaborations
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to lead multiple priorities concurrently and with little oversight
  • Background in organizational change, particularly dealing with ambiguous or constantly evolving situations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities to connect with and influence all types of employees, from front-line Team Members to corporate executives
  • Demonstrated capacity to be highly creative, analytical, and data-driven at the same time
  • Practical familiarity with a reputable problem-solving methodology, such as Six Sigma, is a plus
  • Experience leading a team directly or through project work is preferred
  • Occasional travel to Chewy’s other locations as needed (10-15%)
