We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Protection Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data protection law, with a focus on handling data subject rights requests. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding our organisation's data handling practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Protection Compliance:
    • Provide advice on data protection laws and regulations, ensuring the organisation's policies and practices align with legal requirements.
    • Assist with general compliance matters relating to the DSA and AI laws.
    • Conduct regular assessments of data processing activities and assist in the development of compliance strategies.
  • Data Subject Rights:
    • Manage and respond to data subject rights requests in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with data subject rights under applicable laws.
  • Legal Advisory:
    • Advise the organisation on the legal implications of data protection issues, including privacy impact assessments, and data transfers.
    • Stay updated on changes in data protection laws and regulations to provide proactive legal counsel.
  • Documentation and Training:
    • Draft and review legal documents, including privacy policies, consent forms, and data processing agreements.
    • Provide training to staff members on data protection best practices and legal requirements.
  • Drafting and Negotiation of Data Protection Clauses in Ad Tech Contracts:
    • Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data protection clauses in ad tech contracts.
    • Ability to assess and address the unique data protection challenges and requirements associated with advertising technology, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Collaborate with the commercial and business development teams to provide legal guidance on data protection aspects of ad tech agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor in the UK with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
  • Specialisation in data protection law with a strong understanding of GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven experience in handling data subject rights requests and managing related processes.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in ad tech is desirable.
