This position will be based in our Boston, MA office - this role is not a remote position. All Boston based corporate employees work in the office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office at least 4 days per week and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Wayfair is looking for an Associate on the Procurement Operations team to streamline contracting and sourcing efforts across the purchasing journey. This role is pivotal to transforming our firm-wide buying process by managing key contracting processes, tracking relevant data (renewals, terms, etc.), centralizing spend on a single platform, unlocking process efficiencies, and maximizing our team’s return on investment.

We are looking for adaptable doers who are great at engaging with stakeholders, questioning inefficiencies, using data to solve problems, and multi-tasking. This role will enable development across a myriad of skills, including analytics, project management, and negotiation -- positioning someone to transition into fields such as finance, law, or operations. 

Wayfair’s Strategic Procurement team was established to drive ongoing optimization of our procurement systems and processes. This role will support the procurement and legal teams, and work to centralize and standardize spend and contract management.

 

What You'll Do 

  • Shepherd stakeholders through the end-to-end spend process, creating a true upper funnel starting place for all spend.
  • Work with internal partner teams (legal, security, finance, technology, etc.) to mature and improve intake processes and ensure spend is routed through the appropriate systems / review channels.
  • Facilitate the contract management lifecycle to ensure the team is positioned with the right information to prioritize our support.
  • Become expert in our tools, resources, and processes (self-service guides, templates, and contract requirements) and be able to guide stakeholders on how to leverage them. 
  • Support the team’s change management efforts across system and process optimization. 
  • Monitor functional performance (KPIs) and devise/deploy strategies for ongoing program optimization.
  • Create a reporting suite to distribute to category sourcing and cross-functional connections. 
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree required and preferred in an analytical field, such as economics, math, statistics, supply chain management, analytics, engineering, or a concentration in pre-law.
  • Experience in a process-focused or contract administration role is a plus. This could include, procurement operations/sourcing, systems management, or consulting.
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must.
  • Ability to distill complex sources of information into simple and understandable takeaways.
  • A track record of collaboration and successful relationship management.
  • An ability to hit the ground running and learn quickly; a self-starter.
  • An interest and aptitude for learning new tools and ticketing systems.
  • An ability to understand data and create relevant data visualizations that drive insights.
  • Proficient in Google suite and/or excel .
