As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding and mining a large amount of data, building metrics, finding answers, and creating solutions. The team will look to you for advice on analytical and business issues facing them. You should be a self-starter who knows BI tools and enjoys working with data, and who thrives on implementing creative approaches and dealing with the intricate complexity of large data sets.You will get to work side by side with smart, passionate, and highly motivated entrepreneurs. This role will have a significant impact on the customer and business, and the right candidate will need to be ready to deliver from day one. This leader must be a self-starter, flexible thinker, an outstanding communicator who can influence different perspectives and personalities.

What You'll Do:

  • Interfacing with key business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions (datasets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses, or components of larger solutions) to improve service to Chewy’s customers.
  • Building metrics to analyze key inputs and outputs, use both quantitative and qualitative reasoning to break down complex problems into actionable plans.
  • Troubleshooting data/analyses/code to find root causes and proposing and owning solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable and automated reports and dashboards.
  • Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Present information verbally, as well as in written reports
  • Manage projects and develop supply chain capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies throughout the Specialty transportation network.
  • Position may require travel.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics, and minimum 4+ years of industry experience, logistics experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in an analytical role involving data extraction and analysis.
  • Expertise in writing and tuning SQL scripts.
  • Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting/visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Knime etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in scripting languages like Python/R for automation.
  • Knowledge of Jira & Confluence.
  • Detail oriented and possesses superior organizational, self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced, and rapidly changing organization.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to learn & adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits: 

Our salary range for a Business Intelligence Engineer position is $115,500.00 - $183,500.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
