Meet Wise Business

Wise Business was launched in 2016 with a clear mission to help businesses solve challenges with cross-border payments.

Since launching, we’ve continued to expand the range of services our Wise Business account offers, and today our customers across the globe use Wise to pay employees and vendors overseas, get paid in multiple currencies, manage cash flow by integrating with accounting software and control outgoings with employee expense cards and customizable limits.

Put simply, this is business finance without the high rates, hidden charges, and monthly fees.

Last year, over 300,000 active business customers used Wise to manage their international business payments — and we’re only just getting started.

We know we have a great product, but now we need help shouting about it in our key markets to drive growth for Wise Business and contribute to our ultimate mission of money without borders. We’re here to make international money movement instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free.

About the role

We’re looking for the first senior, strategic hire to lead our global SMB marketing efforts.

As we continue to enhance our product and expand into new markets, we’re looking for someone to deliver a marketing lead approach to finding product-market fit in key regions across the world.

We’ve grown organically over the years but now we’re looking to double down to drive meaningful growth through marketing. You’ll own the investment mix across multiple marketing channels, driving a focus on high value customer acquisition and helping to bring growth from all stages of the funnel.

We’re looking for an experienced B2B marketer to create a fast paced test and learn culture and demonstrate incremental growth, with a mentality to scale or fail fast. You’ll position yourself as a leader within the space at Wise, leaning on your expertise in SMB acquisition strategies and your proven ability to scale impact through paid acquisition channels.

If you’re motivated by the opportunity to build something new and unafraid of the challenge of figuring some of this out for the first time, we’d love to hear from you.

The role is based in our Austin, TX office, but you will also work closely with Wise teams based in our offices around the world, this will require travel to Europe and potentially Asia.

Your Mission:
  • Create and deliver a strategy to supercharge our business customer acquisition and retention strategy globally
  • Help Wise Business reach product-market fit in priority markets
  • Lead a cross-functional Business Marketing Squad to deliver on short and long term goals, ensuring we combine the benefits of each relevant marketing channel
  • Leverage your experience with paid and performance marketing channels to create full funnel marketing campaigns
  • Own the P&L for SMB acquisition and optimise spend for ROI, ensuring we invest sensibly in our growth
  • Work with our Marketing Channel Leads to execute content and campaigns
  • Plan, forecast, test and launch new B2B marketing channels to reach our target customers
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Business Product Managers to ensure our Marketing plans are highly relevant, targeted and optimised at every stage of the funnel
  • Influence measurement best practices - shape our understanding of measurement for LTV and ROI and attribution
  • Ensure we provide the best Marketing experience for Wise Business prospects, through lead gen, lead nurture, content marketing, thought leadership and more
  • Operate in our highly data-driven environment, measuring success, setting KPIs and reporting on these regularly
  • Establish yourself as a leader. Own the plan, set direction and work collaboratively to build a highly skilled Business Marketing Squad

About You:
  • You have demonstrable experience leading SMB customer acquisition (ideally across multiple markets in a global role)
  • You have demonstrable experience in generating high value customers and improving retention and product/feature adoption
  • You have a wide array of experience working with traditional SMB marketing channels, from direct response digital channels, to offline, direct mail and events
  • You are a confident communicator, with a proven ability to achieve buy-in from stakeholders and leadership on strategic decisions
  • You are results-focused and constantly share impact and learnings
  • You are experienced in working in startups or fast growing companies, where the answers are not always immediately available (you might have to figure it out)
    • You thrive on the challenge of bringing order to uncertainty - you are the first senior hire in this team so you must lay the groundwork first
  • You are highly analytical (experience with Looker is a plus)
  • You are experienced in working at pace to find product-market fit (ideally in multiple international markets)
  • You have demonstrable experience designing marketing funnels for multiple audience segments and have successfully delivered cross-channel activities that have brought measurable impact
  • You are highly collaborative, and able to work with Product, Analysts, Marketing teams, Leadership, Account Managers, Business Developers (etc) to successfully deliver complex projects on time

A bit about Wise:

Since 2011, we’ve had a clear mission: money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives, we’re the fairest, easiest way to manage your money across borders.

We’re just at the beginning of our story and we’re growing at an incredible pace, already moving £27bn of international payments for customers and partners each quarter (and more than half of that instantly!). We won’t stop until anyone, anywhere can send, spend and receive money wherever they are, whatever they’re doing. There’s still heaps to do and we can’t do it alone.

Our People:

At Wise, you’ll be joining a movement of people who believe in a better, fairer, more transparent way of moving money around the world. You’ll collaborate to do your best work and take on problems that no one has looked at before.

If you’re keen to learn, grow, try new things and aren’t afraid of a bold plan, you’ll fit right in.

How we work:

At Wise our strategy emerges from the collective brainpower of all our people, who are organised in dozens of independent, autonomous teams. Teams stay closest to our customers, so they choose what problems to solve and where to spend the most time.
