We're seeking a Developer Community Advocate to join our Developer Relations team, managing our user group and developer community activity in the Asia Pacific region. As developers increasingly choose MongoDB as their data platform, your role will involve directly engaging the community, managing inspiring resources and content, and collaborating with a global team of skilled Developer Advocates and Community Managers. 

You'll empower other community leaders and embrace the wonderful range of community members gathering, from academia to startups and Fortune 500 companies,  to explore and integrate data capabilities into their apps and solutions. This role will be based remotely in Singapore. 

Candidate Profile The right candidate for this role will 
  • Have successfully organized community events with measurable results
  • Demonstrate great communication with interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Have partnered effectively with tech and partner communities to drive growth
  • Developed techniques for collaborating with Marketing and Social teams
  • Be experienced with managing and scaling community programs
  • Show and share empathy for developers, regardless of skill level
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Take a data driven approach to problem solving
It would be great to see you have
  • Advanced project management experience
  • Familiarity with nurturing and growing communities both online and offline
  • Expertise with one or more technologies used by the MongoDB developer community
  • Experience identifying and supporting champions and influencers across developer and partner communities
Position Expectations
  • Build out and execute the community vision together with internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent MongoDB in the developer community and help build a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community environment for members from various backgrounds
  • Develop and execute timelines, deliverables, and reporting for your goals to drive success against team goals
  • Build and execute strategic plans for supporting user groups in target regions throughout the Asia and Pacific region
  • In addition to user groups, support the growth of MongoDB community Champions, Creator, and influencer programs in the region
  • Gather insights from our user groups and community to better inform content and enablement strategies
  • Contribute to improvements in internal processes and procedures as our team grows and matures
Success Measures Within 3 months
  • You are working closely with the talented community program managers and leads across our teams
  • You are meeting regularly with our Developer Advocates and other stakeholders in the region to align on overall activities and strategy
  • You're familiar with our developer community programs and our community leaders in the region
  • You have identified and are building relationships with several community leaders in strategic cities across the region
  • You’re regularly reporting on user group activity and growth
  • You are familiar with the best practices and guidelines established by our community enablement team and have started supporting those into the region
  • You will start contributing to strategies that enable our community members
  • You are beginning to advise and adapt best practices established from our global user group program towards the unique needs of the region
