Reporting to the Senior Manager, Consumer Marketing, this person will be a part of the larger consumer marketing team. We are a team of relationship-builders that hold ourselves to a high standard and lead with empathy for our consumers and each other. This is a highly collaborative position that will also work regularly with other teams such as product, channel owners, analytics, creative, and consumer insights.

 

What You’ll Do

 

This role is responsible for creating marketing strategies that drive growth, engagement and retention for the Tripadvisor app. This person will be the “hub” of our app marketing strategy, overseeing key work streams like positioning, channel plans, campaigns, KPI management and reporting. It is a mix of strategy, product marketing, campaign management, media planning, and creative.

  • Own subset of Tripadvisor’s marketing strategies from idea to execution, anchoring all plans in consumer insights and measuring success based on app KPIs

  • Plan the owned and paid channel mixes and work with channel owners to create launch & optimization plans. This role will plan most heavily around email, push, site/product, paid social, and paid display, with testing budgets available for new channel support. 

  • Leverage a deeply rooted understanding of our consumers & their journeys to execute and own segmentation and personalization strategies

  • Write creative briefs and collaborate with internal creative teams to bring engaging and relevant communications to life.

  • Own a subset of app KPIs and work with analytics teams to uncover learnings. 

  • Live and breathe the Tripadvisor funnel, maintaining a deep understanding of the consumer journey and actively working to move people from awareness to conversion.

  • Create learning agendas and set up short and long term tests, in partnership with channel owners. Actively evaluate and report out meaningful results to key stakeholders to drive efficiencies and optimizations.

  • Research and analyze key trends, competitors, consumer behavior, and industry trends to inform strategies and decisions. 

 

Skills & Experience

 

We’re looking for a consumer-obsessed candidate that is excited to drive end-to-end marketing strategies aimed at growing the Tripadvisor app. The right person for this role is a holistic and goal-oriented thinker, is creative and curious, is flexible, is experienced at creating strategic omni-channel plans and frameworks, and enjoys leading cross-functional teams.

  • 7+ years experience working in marketing strategy, with proven experience in app marketing, preferably at a commerce,  DTC, or product-driven company

  • Direct experience working on marketing programs for mobile-and-app first products 

  • You have a strategic mindset and are well-versed in the customer lifecycle, customer segments, and strategic planning

  • You are a strong communicator and able to earn trust and lead cross-functional teams across channel, product, research, and creative teams  

  • You are both innovative and creative, comfortable with experimentation and working with a varied channel mix to test and learn. 

  • You’ve worked closely with senior leadership to develop customer strategy and execute on key priorities. 

  • Data-driven with a proven track record of tracking key growth metrics and turning them into actionable strategies. 

  • You have developed and executed compelling programs that come to life both through marketing communications, product developments, and omni-channel campaigns. 

  • You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to execute things yourself - no task is too big or too small. 

  • You have experience working with culturally-relevant brands. 

 

 

The salary range for this role is $110,000. to $135,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future
