Position Overview

In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge AI technology to streamline processes, extract valuable insights from data, and create internal tools that empower both internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate with Data Science, Research, and SPAR teams to acquire, clean, and understand available structured and unstructured data.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilize your expertise in NLP/LLMs to develop and implement AI-powered solutions for portfolio management tasks.
  • Partner with data scientists and portfolio managers to identify opportunities for AI integration.
  • Ingest and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data related to our portfolio.
  • Extract key insights and generate reports that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop internal tools using AI that simplify data navigation and retrieval from various databases.
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in NLP/LLM technology and identify potential applications.
  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project implementation.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors, Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with Large Language Models (NLP/LLMs).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • High level of confidentiality

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP) techniques.
  • Experience in data analysis and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management concepts and practices (a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong background in Python, R, and Excel. Expertise in Excel VBA, MySQL. Knowledge of Matlab is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for maintaining code and data integrity.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to strong team collaboration.
  • Flourish in a challenging, fast-paced, and professional environment with frequent shifts in priorities as business needs dictate.
  • Have a strong sense of integrity, behaving consistently with expressed values and ethical principles of StepStone.
  • Focus on specific goals and demonstrate a sense of personal growth, accountability and urgency for achieving results.

 

Salary: $70/hour

The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position.  Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience.  The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
