The Role

We’re looking for a Corporate Development Manager to work closely with our senior leadership team to identify and execute on inorganic opportunities that can further accelerate our growth. The role is well suited for someone with a background in strategic, operational or analytical environments. You’ll be the first member of the corporate development team and will report to the VP of Strategy. Your key stakeholders will be c-suite, finance, product, tech and legal. 

🔑You’ll play a key role by…

  • Identifying potential inorganic growth opportunities that support Monzo strategy and evaluating their financial and strategic viability
  • Providing analytical and executional support for inorganic opportunities across the business 
  • Conducting detailed market research, competitive analysis, and industry benchmarking to identify key trends and opportunities
  • Building and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the industry, competitors, and market dynamics
  • Assessing potential targets through the lifecycle of a deal: identification, initial assessment, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring and negotiations. 
  • Developing comprehensive financial models and perform financial analysis to support key decisions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams as required, such as legal, finance, technology, and people
  • Engaging and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and external advisors
  • Developing presentations on key initiatives for senior management

🤩We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have 3+ years of experience in strategic, operational, or analytical environments such as Corp Dev, Investment Banking, Equity Research, Management Consulting or Venture Capital
  • You have a strong financial acumen, a deep understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques and significant experience building valuation models for companies 
  • Analytical skills are one of your key strengths
  • You have experience working on strategic projects and can formulate business opportunities thoroughly, propose sound business cases and line up the decisions at hand in order to drive progress
  • You have experience  partnering with cross-functional teams and navigating verbal and written communications with internal and external stakeholders 
  • You have a track record of driving outcomes in environments where influence and consensus building are critical. 
  • You have strong project management skills and experience running streamlined processes and improving efficiency

Our interview process involves 3 main stages:

  • Recruiter Call (30 min): One of our Hiring team will reach out to you for an introductory conversation.
  • Take-home task: This stage requires you to analyse data and create a set of slides to summarise your thinking.
  • Final interviews (2 x 45 min interviews): This stage consists of a data thinking interview and a conversation with the Chief of Staff to the CEO.
