Our Opportunity:

The Chewy Studios Team is looking for a Creative Director, Social & Programmatic to lead development of concepts for social media and programmatic campaigns. The Creative Director, S+P will bring a social-first aesthetic sense, the ability to build a narrative, and a strategic understanding of executing on social and programmatic photo and video projects. The Creative Director, S+P will have grown up in the spaces of digital and social and is comfortable pushing the bounds of thinking in these areas. The Creative Director, S+P will be an ambassador of brand guidelines and governance, with deep knowledge of social channels and ad formats within them. In this role, you will understand the customer journey and experience inside social and have a thorough understanding of data, including measurement strategy, how to test, and how to optimize and iterate social content. The ideal candidate has worked for brands across lifestyle and culture - spanning entertainment, pet, fashion, beauty, health, food, travel, tech and auto.

The Creative Director, S+P will be comfortable dealing with stakeholders across all levels, including Chewy Executives, Brand Marketing and Creative partners to get content to their highest quality, brand-defining, best performing, and most efficient execution. The volume and demand of our business dictates that our work is fast-paced, therefore the ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. This position will lead a small and agile team made up of a content creator, writer, and designer, and will also work cross-functionally to leverage additional studio resources. The Creative Director, S+P will report into the Director, Studio Production in Plantation, FL.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with stakeholders, business partners and executive leadership, representing the social and programmatic team in presentations and strategy discussions.
  • Take in requests and strategy guidance from the Social team and lead creative concepting and ideation that deliver on the briefs.
  • Relationship building – partner with social platform counterparts to ensure best-in-class practices, innovation and development to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Direct the daily creative workflow to support the creative goals and strategic goals of the social and programmatic team.
  • Create and drive processes around testing creative fatigue and iterating on social and programmatic content.
  • Mentor and inspire all level of creatives on your team in their professional development.
  • Collaborate on and guide the day-to-day work of all direct reports, giving them critical feedback and leading the generation of stellar ideas.
  • Coach team members on presentation skills and interfacing with brand partners, senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of trends and technologies in the social media and programmatic spaces and suggest new ways to implement these into our processes.
  • Roll up your sleeves to pitch in and deliver work wherever needed.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years working in a social media and/or programmatic leadership role. The ideal candidate has been directly responsible for developing branded social creative at an agency, production company or publisher.
  • Proven ability developing social creative is a must – responsible for shaping and leading the creative vision of each project including concepting against briefs.
  • A strong understanding of organic social and ad formats in planned, proactive and reactive states for all social media platforms, especially TikTok.
  • Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to balance accountability to multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Exemplary time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Depth of knowledge in the social space - keeps up with trends, technology and talent. A strong focus on reactive trending content as well as planned and optimized social content.
  • Experience taking business goals and translating them into creative projects.
  • Exceptional presentation skills – a requirement for both internal and external creative presentations.
  • Clearly able to articulate creative expectations; the ability to rally a team around one outcome and objective.
  • Strong understanding of business needs and how they apply to marketing strategy, objectives and creative deliverables.
  • Knowledge and genuine interest in Chewy and e-commerce platforms.
  • An ad school or liberal arts (4 year) degree is preferred.
