The Job

SumUp's Lending team is looking for a Credit Risk Manager to take us to the next level when it comes to credit risk in the digital world. 

We are looking for someone who loves to take on a challenge, transforming data into meaningful insights and those insights into projects together with our international squads. We aim to raise the level of risk analysis at Sumup and consequently impact the lives of millions of small merchants all over Brazil and maybe even globally. 

Additionally, for this position we require that you should have a proven track record in the world of best practices in Credit Risk, problem-solving skills and good communication skills to interact with local and global stakeholders.

 

What you'll do in this position

  • Contribute in defining the eligibility criteria and risk distribution for our portfolio in Brazil, and support your peers in other markets
  • Communicate with different types of stakeholders, such as business leadership for the markets, internal financial teams, investors, amongst others,in order to guarantee clear alignment between our credit risk strategy and the overall SumUp business
  • Interact with Engineering teams (Data Scientists, ML Engineers and Software Engineers) to understand how to operate within our systems and always providing meaningful feedback on what could be improved
  • Question and revise our credit risk strategies and processes seeking continuous improvement 
  • Test and implement new data providers to raise our decision power and add value to boost our performance for current products and new ones
  • Guaranteeing our international squad is on top of our main issues and together come up with solutions to take us to the next level of credit risk for current and new merchants

 

You'll be a great fit for this position if

  • You have 4+ years of experience on Credit Risk assessment defining policies for lending products
  • You speak fluent English - you'll be part of a truly global team :) 
  • You are highly motivated, hands-on, focused and striving to learn and improve your skills
  • You work well autonomously and across different areas and positions
  • You have a great stakeholder management
  • You have advanced Excel skills and you’re a data driven person
  • You have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills - you are able to communicate ideas and concepts with team members from a wide range of positions, countries and cultures, and to build strong and productive relationships

 

Any of the following is considered a plus

  • SQL knowledge. You’re going to have access to analytical database (Snowflake) and will be able to perform queries and build your own analyses
  • You’re familiar with and get excited about Data Science. We solve our credit risk problems with Machine Learning models
  • You’re familiar with Financial reports to provide visibility of our loan book to internal and external stakeholders

You will report directly to the Lending Head of Credit Risk.
