Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Data Engineer II at our facility in Plantation, Florida, to collaborate with teams across Chewy to drive innovative solutions for data usage.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Design and develop high-quality content for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Solve complex Splunk problems using your knowledge of advanced searching and dashboarding.
  • Implement integrations with external apps and systems as needed.
  • Promote and educate our user community on Splunk search, alert, and dashboard best practices.
  • Undertake day-to-day operational and community support.
  • Perform data interpretation, classification, and enrichment.
  • Create and manage knowledge objects such as fields, extractions, tags, event types, lookups, workflow actions, aliases, and macros.
  • Configure summary-based reports and data model acceleration.
  • Telecommuting permitted.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field of study and 3 years of experience in Splunk Administration.
  • Experience must include 3 years in developing advanced Splunk dashboards and searches in Splunk.
  • Experience must also include the following: scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, or other);
  • Splunk’s Simple XML Framework and application structure;
  • Regular expressions;
  • Driving insights with data and Splunk products;
  • Creating dashboards in Dashboard Studio;
  • Ansible and Git;
  • Machine Learning;
  • Web Design;
  • Collaborating and consulting with application teams to drive innovative solutions for corporate data collection to enterprise logging platforms;
  • Solving complex Splunk administration problems using knowledge of automation, scripting, Ansible, AWS, REST APIs, and Splunk Enterprise;
  • Developing, testing, and deploying a variety of Splunk configurations and Splunk technology add-on;
  • Owning and driving Splunk system and data administration best practices, including data onboarding; and
  • Assisting with the creation of advanced dashboards, reports, alerts, and other knowledge objects in Splunk to drive value across the organization.
