About the job
As the Director, M&A Integration you will report to the Sr. Director, Workforce Transformation within Twilio’s People organization. You will play a critical leadership role responsible for orchestrating and driving execution of M&A transactions cross-functionally from deal thesis through full integration. This role will also flex to support other workforce transformation projects as needed.
This role requires experience and comfort with driving projects and executive sponsor teams toward capturing the value of an M&A deal, or workforce project. Success in this role hinges on the ability to partner with key stakeholders globally, balancing business objectives with excellent operational execution.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Partner with business leaders and Corporate Development through the diligence and integration process to define Twilio’s integration strategy. This includes interfacing with deal sponsors, target company leaders, and building strong project operations to ensure alignment to deal value drivers, workforce strategy, and defined KPIs.
- Lead post-deal close integration and assimilation efforts of M&A at Twilio—functional, cultural, and operational—by facilitating and guiding a cross-functional team of workstream owners and ensuring key deliverables and KPIs are met.
- Build an M&A Integration Operational Model, including developing governance structures, playbooks, change management and communications plans, and project team roles and responsibilities.
- Interface with senior leadership, including VP, SVP level executives, to present strategic recommendations, secure resources, and set the broad integration agenda.
- Establish regular governance updates, proactively identify and mitigate risks, leading KPI reviews and results and escalate critical decisions to business sponsors and executive leadership.
- Cultivate communications and change management efforts for all stakeholders (including acquired company leaders) throughout the integration process to minimize disruption and maximize adoption.
- Assess and incorporate integration best practices, learnings, and success metrics to continuously improve our M&A playbook and operational processes.
- Support the project management of other workforce transformation projects as needed, which includes re-orgs, location expansion or consolidation efforts and people related projects as an outcome of our strategic workforce plan objectives.

*Required:
- A demonstrated track record of successful global cross-functional leadership, business leader influence and management, collaboration, and relationship building.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably at a leading technology company or startup, and a minimum of 3+ years hands on experience leading M&A integrations.
- Exceptional project management and communication skills, the ability to track and manage complex processes, and a desire to lead multiple teams and multiple projects.
- Experience working with, influencing, and presenting to business leaders. Highly developed business acumen and drive clarity and execution in ambiguous situations.
- Capability to understand the business, and recognize areas of product and GTM integration, discuss product roadmaps, GTM strategy and engage with leaders to determine integration roadmaps and recommend approaches.
- Capability to understand M&A integration approaches and engage with business leaders to understand the talent objectives with each deal.
- Capability to drive continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives, external learning and incorporating best practices and lessons learned into program improvements.
Desired:
- M&A integration experience within technical companies
- Demonstrated leveraging of technology or systems to bring efficiencies to an organization or function
- Understanding of strategic workforce planning and talent strategies
Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project based or team in-person meetings.

Compensation
*Please note the salary range information provided applies only to candidates residing in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State due to local requirements. Compensation for candidates in other locations will be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that hiring for this role is not restricted to the locations listed above.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $171,200.00-$213,900.00
- Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $181,200.00-$226,500.00
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $201,280.00-$251,600.00
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
