Reporting to the Sr. Director Enterprise Growth, the Director, Global Sales - Cloud, Enterprise Line of Business (LoB).
This role will be part of the Enterprise LoB headquarters organization and will be the global sales leader for our cloud business focused on driving bookings growth and expanding our market presence in both our Enterprise and WW Strategic accounts. You will manage a team of both sales and technical specialists and be responsible for developing strategic sales initiatives, fostering key partnerships, and achieving annual sales goals.
In this role, you will manage a cloud specialist team that will be aligned with both the Pure Storage field sales team, the Azure sales team at Microsoft - or another hyperscaler, and the VMware ecosystem. You will be responsible for recruiting top talent, pipeline management, sales enablement and developing and delivering GTM strategies.
What You will be doing
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Sales Team:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of sales and technical specialists across multiple regions.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed annual bookings targets.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Create and execute a comprehensive sales plan that aligns with Pure's business objectives and market opportunities.
- Identify key growth areas and market segments to expand Pure’s footprint in both our Enterprise and WW Strategic Accounts..
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Pure’s Sales teams, Microsoft Azure teams - or another hyperscaler, and the VMware ecosystem, leveraging your extensive experience to enhance collaboration.
- Cultivate partnerships with global systems integrators and strategic partners to drive joint business opportunities.
- Revenue Growth and Performance Management:
- Set clear performance expectations and bookings goals for the sales team.
- Monitor team performance, providing regular feedback and implementing improvement plans when necessary.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, forecasts, and market insights for senior management.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Leadership and Management:
- Minimum of 5+ years of recent experience in first-line enterprise sales management.
- Proven track record of leading and developing successful sales teams in the technology sector.
- Industry Expertise:
- At least 10+ years of experience in technology sales, focusing on cloud computing, virtualization, and data storage solutions.
- Proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles and close high-value deals.
- Demonstrated success selling into hyperscaler marketplace and VMware ecosystem.
- Relationship Building:
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Strong network within Microsoft, VMware and familiarity with their organizational structure and sales processes.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in presenting to senior leadership and external partners.
- Analytical Thinking:
- Ability to analyze market trends and sales data to make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving results.
The annual base salary range is: $228,900– $401,800. Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role is be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
