The Points Guy Team is seeking a Director of Content to lead our credit cards and points & miles editorial staff. In this role, you’ll oversee a team of writers and editors tasked with creating and publishing content to teach our audience everything they need to know about personal finance, credit cards, and points & miles — optimized to rank on the SERP while also delivering value to our known base of readers and generating revenue aligned with business goals.

You’ll work closely with various stakeholders in driving high-level content strategy while delegating project assignments and executing on important initiatives to drive revenue from both a cards acquisition and partnerships basis.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute on content strategy for the credit cards and points & miles teams on ThePointsGuy.com to drive customer acquisition aligned with business priorities.
  • Lead and develop a team of editors and writers in publishing breaking news, evergreen guides, and other types of content to meet the needs of TPG’s readers.
  • Identify new opportunities for content creation and supporting resources to grow TPG’s audience and introduce a new generation of travelers to the world of credit cards and loyalty programs.
  • Stay on top of trends in areas like travel, personal finance, and SEO to pivot editorial focus as needed.
  • Collaborate with other business leaders to ensure your strategy aligns with the broader goals for growth of the TPG brand and business.
  • Set high expectations for productivity and innovation to ensure TPG is constantly evolving to meet (and exceed) performance goals.
  • Foster a culture of success, growth and inclusivity across your team.

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of editorial experience, with an emphasis in travel, personal finance, and/or credit cards.
  • 3+ years of experience leading editorial teams to execute on content strategy aligned with business needs. 
  • Strong knowledge of credit card rewards and loyalty programs from both the consumer and business perspective.
  • A deep pool of industry contacts and experience with external press appearances a plus.
  • A motivational team leader with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop junior and mid-level editorial talent.
  • Strong bias towards action; eager to drive initiatives forward autonomously, seeking feedback as the need arises and leveraging resources (directly and indirectly).
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and often changing environment, with an inclination to learn new skills to solve new problems.
  • An influential communicator across senior executives, leadership peers and your direct team.
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit servant leadership by consistently making direct contributions; ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels.
  • Passionate about credit cards, points & miles and travel — with an overwhelming enthusiasm to spread this passion with an external audience.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (2-3 times per quarter) for business meetings or other in-person events.
  • Humility and a sense of humor!

Compensation

  • USA Compensation Range: $120,000- $200,000 *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience. 
    • Enrollment in Red Ventures Long Term Incentive Plan (Equity).
