About the job

This position is needed to support the end-to-end sales compensation administration for our fast-paced, high-growth global sales organization. This highly visible role oversees the sales compensation shared service that supports Twilio’s two business units.  This shared services function is responsible for the calculation and payout for all sales roles; the collection, transformation, and processing of sales data; and the incentive compensation management system implementation and administration.  

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead the team to ensure timely and accurate commission reporting and payments are issued
  • Support and motivate resources with a keen awareness of and bias towards: action, effectiveness, efficiency, and opportunity
  • Navigate fluidly between strategic and operational/tactical initiatives
  • Develop and nurture effective partnerships with stakeholders in each business unit
  • Partner with business units to effectively educate and provide transparency to the sales team on compensation plans, payouts, and policies
  • Partner with Sales Compensation Design Teams to ensure feasibility, scalability, and timely implementation of compensation plan changes and special programs

Required:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience including data analytics, sales engagement & development, incentive compensation program management, and project management
  • 7+ years of people management experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive intended outcomes within all levels of company
  • Motivated by intrinsic curiosity and grit, especially when taking on complex challenges requiring a collaborative approach to solving
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including Accounting, Payroll, HR, Legal, and Sales. Building influence with upstream and downstream partners to ensure the team can reliably acquire data to accurately calculate incentive payments
  • Strong understanding of sales incentive plan principles and concepts, ICM testing and implementation, commission calculations, and knowledge of industry standard best practices
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights
  • Proven track record of building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams

Desired:

  • Experience with Xactly or similar ICM platforms
  • Highly proficient in Excel / GoogleSheets / system-based analytical tools
  • Experience in high growth software company
Location 

This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Approximately <10%> travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $160,000 - $200,000
  • Based in New York, Washington State or California (outside the San Francisco Bay Area): $169,000 - $211,000
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
