Our Opportunity: 

Chewy Studios is seeking a Director of Studio Production to lead the development and production of our catalog imagery and creative for the Chewy ecommerce Storefront. As the Director of Studio Production you will collaborate with cross functional and business customers across all levels to implement Studio Content. Partners and Team Members include Chewy Executives, Retail Operations, Brand and Product Marketing, Studio Management (FLL and DFW), Brand Creative and 3rd party Production partners to deliver Chewy Product Video and Photo content at the highest quality and most efficient execution that meets and exceeds customer expectations. The volume, diversity of project types, and demands of our business ensures our work is multifaceted and fast-paced. 

A background leading and setting vision in a Studio production environment that produces eCommerce storefront content at scale is a requirement. The leader will have a strong production background for soft and hardlines content and  is comfortable gauging feasibility and delivering on execution for production at scale. Advocacy and management for the safe handling of pet talent in our productions is of the highest priority and critical to the success of this role, therefore experience in the Pet Industry and working with Pet talent is preferred.

This person should have shown success leading, developing and inspiring a team of creative art directors, producers, set designers and talent management teams. Experience deriving optimizations for in house production workflows, procedures, reporting and measurement across people, processes and tools. They will be credible in ensuring accurate and measurable tracking and reporting of defined Key Performance Indicators to improve the utilization, capacity, volume and velocity of the team to meet business demands at scale. Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years working in a creative content leadership role
  • Experience in a leadership role within an e-commerce photo studio or a similar creative environment
  • e-commerce trends and the impact of visual content on online consumer behavior
  • Bachelor’s degree in photography, visual arts, or equivalent Master's degree or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and communication
  • Strong understanding of business needs and how it applies to marketing strategy, objectives and deliverables
  • Experience and technical knowledge in all aspects of content production: copy, photography, graphics, renderings, retouching, etc. - Creative Force Production Management Software a plus
  • Knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and analyzing data
  • Creative, Technical and Operational expertise in Photography for eComm is a must – product and lifestyle – in studio and on location, with pet and human talent 
  • Experience translating business goals into content production workstreams – brand guidelines, visual systems, roadmaps and other scalable frameworks and processes for teams to complete
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong work ethic, and commitment to quality and efficiency
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal

What You'll Do:

  • Build highly engaged and effective teams to achieve an exceptional level of performance and accountability in a large volume, fast-paced production environment
  • Develop and maintain positive, and productive relationships with internal and external core functional partners to ensure flawless execution and collaboration at scale
  • Serve as the guide for the Studio production pipeline including planning and prioritization from assignment of asset briefs to delivery of final assets
  • Exercise industry standard methodologies to define and optimize workflows across departments both direct and dotted line reporting to build tools and templates
  • Authoritatively navigate and resolve issues and risk management with a successful track record to judiciously call out concerns and make informed recommendations
  • Ability to forecast and model operational scenarios to facilitate optimization across several cross functional teams: Art, Photo, Pet Talent, and Post Production
  • Efficiently lead all resources including real-time operations and forecast planning for a sku based workflow from individual projects to complete pipeline, provide data-based and ROI-centric recommendations for staffing
