Appian is looking for a Director, Total Rewards to join us in our Headquarters, McLean Virginia.  As Director, Total Rewards for Appian, you will lead the team of Compensation and Benefit Associates that provides day-to-day support for Appian’s rapidly growing global workforce. You’ll craft our global compensation approach, benefits administration, and key activities that support the strengthening of Appian’s culture. You will report to the Chief People Officer and will work closely with HR, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and business unit leaders to design, deploy, and manage our total rewards program.

About the job:

  • Conduct market analysis reviews to lead the design, development and implementation of global programs including health, wellness, compensation, retirement, time off and other perquisite programs.

  • Work with Appian’s Talent Development and HR Teams to ensure alignment across job levels and types with Appian’s approach to compensation and benefits strategy.

  • Develop plans, educational materials, and communications designed to provide employees, managers, and HR partners with timely and accurate information regarding compensation initiatives.

  • Directly supervise a team that act as Appian’s primary point of contact for internal clients and external vendors on all benefit related topics.

  • Oversee the amendment of plan documents, summary plan descriptions, vendor contracts and any other documents related to plan offerings.

About you:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years experience 

  • Compensation and benefits (C&B) experience in a global environment

  • You’ve spent at least 4 years designing and implementing global compensation and/or total rewards programs

  • You stay current with trends and regulatory issues surrounding benefit plan design and administration

  • You’re a data geek and enjoy telling meaningful stories in Excel and/or Tableau

  • You are a Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), have a CEBS designation
