Great infrastructure is critical to helping our frontend developers deliver high-quality features safely and quickly. Your mission will be to ensure that frontend developers have the best infrastructure in the industry. 

 

The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a talented engineering team tasked with delivering world-class infrastructure
  • Overseeing sustained recruitment of top-tier talent, fostering a well-organized and synergistic team structure, and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Implementing robust processes to efficiently execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals and priorities
  • Take input from feature teams and drive adoption of new initiatives across the organization

The impact you will have:

  • Lead infrastructure development for a rapidly growing frontend community.
  • Make company-wide impact by improving the experience of frontend developers
  • Define, shape, and drive the future of technologies like GraphQL and UI logging infrastructure at Databricks
  • Grow a world-class team of software engineers working on UI infrastructure
  • Ensure consistent delivery against milestones and strong alignment with product teams
  • Evolve organizational structure to align with long-term initiatives, build strong "5 ingredient" teams with good comms architecture
  • Manage technical debt, including long term technical architecture decisions and balance product needs

 

What we look for:

  • 2+ years experience working as an EM, ideally in an infrastructure role
  • A passion for infrastructure, building great UIs, performance, and data-driven UI insights
  • Can ensure the team builds high-quality and reliable infrastructure services; experience being responsible for testing, quality, and SLAs of a product
  • Ability to attract, hire, and coach engineers who meet the Databricks hiring standards; can up level existing team via hiring top-notch senior talent, growing leaders and helping struggling members; can gain trust of the team and guide their careers; experience managing distributed teams preferred

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Local Pay Range$182,400—$247,000 USD
