Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the product environmental compliance function for Pure Storage
  • Develop, manage, and maintain internal standards and requirements covering product-related environmental and social regulatory (and customer) requirements in markets around the world such as REACH, RoHS, EcoDesign, SCIP, TSCA, POPs, Conflict Minerals, Packaging, etc. that apply to Pure Storage products
  • Support projects to comply voluntary standards including EPEAT, TCO Certified, ECMA-370, etc.
  • Keep relevant compliance documentation up to date and readily available in CMAP
  • Work with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure environmental compliance requirements of new products are met prior to launch and throughout their production and maintenance lives.
  • Work with other teams, including Extended Producer Responsibility, Sustainability, etc. to help them leverage information contained in CMAP
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure they are aware of Pure’s evolving needs, and to provide training and education as needed.
  • Work with Account Managers and Sales to ensure customer and prospect requests for information and compliance documentation is met in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Sustainability, Supply Chain, and others on creating/editing documents, compliance statements, contracts, etc.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in product environmental compliance for management and multifunctional teams.
  • Communicate regulatory requirements across the organization and provide guidance and training as needed to cross-functional teams on environmental regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and keep abreast of relevant regulatory and similar developments worldwide; highlight risks and new obligations to management and relevant internal organizations
  • Manage 3rd party data collection function
  • Produce reports and certificates of compliance as necessary and submit compliance data to regulatory authorities as necessary (e.g., SCIP, PFAS reporting)

Requirements, Experience, and Skills

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering or Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, or a related scientific or engineering discipline required. MS or other advanced degree in engineering, science, or business is a plus
  • 7-10+ years in a similar role in an electronics OEM, preferably with data center-focused products
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of chemical, energy, circularity and similar regulatory requirements is critical to being a successful candidates
  • Understanding of government agencies and their approaches to regulating is desirable
  • Knowledge of industry best practices is very helpful
  • Knowledge of relevant standards including IEC 63000, IPC 1752A/B, JSTD 709C, IEC 62474
  • Experience with PLM and Environmental Compliance Data Management Systems
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid schedule management and collaboration skills to be able to work with cross-functional teams and other departments to achieve objectives on time
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and 14001 is a plus
  • People management experience is a plus
