What You’ll Do:
As the Manager of Events for Wayfair Professional, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning and execution of high-impact events. You will be instrumental in cultivating and managing relationships with key industry partners, including vendors and sponsors, while enhancing brand awareness and strengthening our market presence through strategically executed events. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing a comprehensive events marketing strategy, planning and coordinating high-profile events such as trade shows, conferences, and first-party physical retail gatherings, as well as leading a high-performing team dedicated to event management and execution.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in events marketing, event management, or a related role, with a proven track record of successful events and sponsorships.
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and manage large-scale events, from conceptualization through post-event analysis, including logistics, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
- Comfort negotiating contracts and managing agreements with vendors, sponsors, and partners.
- Skilled in designing engaging and memorable event experiences, with a strong understanding of the creative process and how to effectively guide creative teams through comprehensive briefs.
- Understanding of marketing principles to promote events effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and media partners.
- Strong analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of events and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Experience leading and motivating a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected challenges.
- A strong interest in and knowledge of the Interior Design and/or Commercial Office industries is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 20-25% of the time.
An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:
All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday - Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
At this time, Wayfair does not provide sponsorship for employment authorization for this position.The salary range for this position is $99,000- $110,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
