About us:

We’re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.

We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.

We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.

About our Finance Team:

Our Finance team is growing and we are looking for a detailed and collaborative Finance Analyst to join the Commercial Finance team. We are looking for someone who is early in their career, eager to learn the foundations and wants to gain exposure to grow in a fast-paced finance environment.

In this role, you will support a Business Partner who manages our Operating Expenses and costs across the business. You will work in a team that manages the P&L and Balance Sheet helping Monzo make the right strategic financial decisions. The right candidate will enjoy building and updating models, ensuring data accuracy and digging into details.

The Role

Everyday you’ll:

  • Run and update cost models for forecasting and analysis for your business areas with guidance
  • Support Business Partners in annual budget, forecasts and multi year plans for these business areas
  • Prepare management information, insights & reports and improve modelling
  • Proactively develop relationships with key stakeholders
  • Help to prepare accurate P&L, balance sheet and capital forecasts and run a budgeting process for a business area, with support

You should apply if you:

  • You have experience working in a finance related role and are in the early stages of your finance career, actively pursuing or already underway with a finance qualification.
  • You are comfortable working with large data sets to identify trends and insight
  • You are analytical and detail-oriented, able to build and update models largely independently
  • Curiosity & strong problem solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and issues
  • The ability to understand the needs of the end users and pull information to their requirements
  • The ability to be hands-on and enjoy supporting colleagues, projects or tasks both big or small
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, able to support developing new processes and streamlining existing processes to create efficiencies

The interview process:

Our internal interview process involves 3 main stages:

  • Phone call with a recruiter
  • Video call with the hiring manager
  • A video call with someone from the Finance leadership team

Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks but we will always work around your availability. You will have the chance to speak to our recruitment team at various points during your process but if you do have any specific questions ahead of this please contact us on business-hiring@monzo.com.
