Team Description:

As the Fraud Prevention Strategy Manager, you'll lead a team of three direct reports—consisting of a coordinator, a specialist, and a senior analyst. Reporting directly to the Head of R&FP, you'll guide the team using data-driven decision-making. Your role involves not just team management but also fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. With a focus on multiplying fraud prevention knowledge within the team, your approach will be proactive and adaptable to evolving fraud trends. Join us in navigating this dynamic landscape, where you'll play a crucial role in the collective success of SumUp's Fraud Prevention initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in market fraud prevention forums such as ABECS
  • Maintain regular relationships with main card schemes to discuss fraud trends, KPIs, and projects
  • Lead the team to validate new rules proposed by the team for production
  • Lead the team in performing proof of concept (POC) for new fraud prevention tools
  • Validate new and existing score cut-offs proposed by the team.
  • Manage strategic KPIs for BR Fraud Prevention, making decisions based on them
  • Guide the diagnosis analysis squad, leading action plans to mitigate future frauds from patterns observed on approved frauds
  • Work closely with Operations Fraud Prevention Manager for weekly alignment meetings
  • Handle financial planning to manage costs from fraud prevention tools, analyzing the cost/benefit for SumUp

 

You'll be a great fit for this position if:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud prevention strategy, specifically in rules and scores within the payments industry
  • Fluent English is part of your communication arsenal, enabling effective interaction with other senior leadership
  • Adaptability and flexibility are your strengths, allowing you to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • You possess leadership experience, demonstrating your ability to guide and mentor teams effectively
  • A growth mindset defines you, coupled with a natural curiosity and a commitment to finding innovative solutions
  • Your skill set includes effective stakeholder management, with the ability to build relationships and maintain a business mindset
  • You hold a degree in engineering, statistics, math, physics, or a related field
  • You are data-driven, showcasing knowledge of databases, ability to create KPIs, measure performance, and drive data improvements

Any of the following is considered a plus:

  • SQL/coding skills
