About the team

The global diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) team is part of Deliveroo's People team. Our mission is to connect people, businesses, and neighbourhoods with the opportunities and experiences they want. We do this by enabling the equity and inclusion that they need. That's why we celebrate a diverse workforce, an inclusive culture, and fair opportunities. We partner with the People Team and senior leadership to design thoughtful ED&I solutions. A well-resourced and hybrid team, we are split between Deliveroo's London headquarters and Amsterdam. This is a hybrid position based in our cannon street office.

About the role

The DEI team is looking for a global program manager to help move us into the next phase of our strategic roadmap. You'll partner with us in launching major global initiatives. Our work covers three areas of focus - building for equity, inspiring trust and strengthening community. This is a re-scoped role at Deliveroo, so there is plenty of room for innovation and growth.

In your first 30 days, you'll learn the global DEI team's strategy, goals, and methods. You'll start to build relationships with our seven employee resource groups and the employee communications, workplace and recruitment teams.

In 60 days, you'll know enough to co-own our team's new storytelling engine. You'll pull together a strong point of view on how to create content that inspires employees. This includes leading on mid-size branding, content development and event management projects.

Within 90 days, you'll lead the building and launch of a new Community Change platform. It's a fresh and unique approach to how we speed up the ability of our ERGs and external talent communities to make change. A mix of enablement tools, guidances, tech solutions, and insights, your goal will be to create multi-year impact plans for our ERGs. You'll also have put together a clear DEI events strategy for the second half of the year that includes program management for Black History Month (October) and Disability History Month (November-December).

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager, ED&I Strategy and Engagement, you'll:

  • Partner with the DEI team to advance Deliveroo's DEI strategy and roadmap
  • Build strong relationships with key partners (People team, leadership, etc.) to support the needs of our underrepresented talent groups
  • Provide structure and support for our growing network of global DEI community groups, aligning their strategies to the overall DEI strategy to deliver even greater impact
  • Lead ERGs to self-sufficiency through a new community change platform, including governance, change management, succession planning, development opportunities, budget allocation, event planning, goal setting, membership, and the creation of new groups
  • Grow and manage underrepresented talent communities and development cohorts
  • Maintain a global and diverse calendar of events, initiatives and programs
  • Shape DEI storytelling and content creation, creating and crowdsourcing multimedia content for our team like long-form articles, videos, podcasts/audio, and also internal communications content like newsletters and cultural announcements
  • Act as community manager for all DEI communications channels, responding on time and with empathy
  • Provide ongoing enablement support for the DEI team through generating reports, budget management, and day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Manage key strategic DEI initiatives as needed like diversity data collection and external benchmarking

We'd love to hear from you if you…

  • Can speak to or show at least 4+ years of relevant work experience in cross-functional program and project management
  • Have strategic community management experience, with a strong preference for employee resource groups
  • Have experience creating social media/digital content, writing blog posts, newsletters, etc., and/or in event production

Great to have, but not required:

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or video editing software
  • Data analysis skills

About Deliveroo

Our mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders. We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.

We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

Workplace & Benefits

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. Benefits differ by country, but we offer many benefits in areas including healthcare, well-being, parental leave, pensions, and generous annual leave allowances, including time off to support a charitable cause of your choice. Benefits are country-specific, please ask your recruiter for more information.

Diversity

At Deliveroo, we believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest-growing businesses in a rapidly growing industry.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that some candidates may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will make every effort to provide the necessary adjustments to ensure you have an equitable opportunity to succeed.

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don't apply for roles if they don't feel they meet all the requirements. If this is you, it's important to us that you consider applying if you're interested. We'd love to hear your story!
