We’re looking for an experienced Global Sales Compensation Lead to join our Reward Team at Personio. You will work on maintaining, developing and embedding our reward strategy within Personio’s sales teams within our Go-to-Market and Customer Experience teams at a strategic and operational perspective. You will work with department leaders, People Partners, external partners and the Reward Team and lead the commissions team to deliver compensation programs that recognize performance and impact, promote ownership, and are understood and transparent. The role is part of Personio’s Reward team, reporting to the Director of Reward.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, design, and implement competitive and innovative sales compensation and incentives programs that consider local and global business requirements and incorporate all elements of reward, including salary, equity, benefits, performance, career growth, and people frameworks.

  • Lead the sales compensation team to effectively execute the designed commission plans, ensuring high-quality operations and providing a transparent perspective for employees.

  • Strategically assess the effectiveness of our reward programs for the global go-to-market and customer success teams. Identify best practices, perform benchmark analysis, model, manage, report, and drive innovation.

  • Serve as the expert on sales compensation, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in the Go-to-Market, Finance & Legal and People departments. Connect with the Sales teams and leadership to understand business needs and develop competitive compensation deliverables.

What you need to succeed

You’re a passionate and driven data expert with a background in sales commissions, and working in high-growth, product or service led international technology companies. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to collaborate with stakeholders of all levels and engage with diverse perspectives. You’ll have built up your experience over a few years in a similar role(s).

You have:

  • Extensive experience as a compensation professional, including expertise in the design and operation of commission and sales incentives. Experience in other areas of reward, such as equity and benefits, is a plus, but not required.

  • Have worked in a high-growth, international company, demonstrating the ability to design solutions that think globally and act locally, and ideally in a tech company.

  • Proven track record of managing large projects, including scoping problems and crafting plans to deliver meaningful results to the business. Willingness to be hands-on and take initiative. Ability to manage stakeholders, direct reports, and external vendors to achieve impactful outcomes.

  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to creatively solve problems and effectively communicate information from complex data sets in a narrative format, enabling others to visualize and understand key messages.

  • Possess an incredible team player mentality, collaborating across commercial teams as well as with Finance, Legal, People Partners, People Operations, and Talent Acquisition. Demonstrated collaborative outlook and passion for developing people and fostering ownership.

  • Confidence in dealing with ambiguity, with the ability to work in rapidly changing environments where there is shared ownership of complex topics. Flexibility to adapt approaches as needed.
