YOUR MISSION
As Head of Commercial of Portugal, the role is based in Lisbon you will be a key representative of our company’s commercial team, responsible for managing Sales, the Big Chains and Long Tail team as well as bringing revenue to Glovo through Advertisements.

THE JOURNEY
- Define and implement a long-term commercial strategy for Portugal
- You will be the ultimate responsible for bringing the best content to our app by defining a local sales strategy: building a qualitative partner pipeline with the help of the sales team leader, optimizing commercial conditions and dimensioning the sales team
- Create long-term relationships with the Big Chains’ main POCs in order to be their preferred partner in delivery
- Work closely with your direct team, helping and guiding them during difficult negotiations to close important deals with the Big chains and Top accounts.
- Work closely with the Growth Marketing team in order to execute the most impactful promotional campaigns together with our Big Chains
- Meet the Advertisements Business Plan goals. Build a yearly strategy defining the targets to each of the local teams making sure they use all our selling assets in the most effective way and also generating value to our partners.
- Drive, structure, analyze and channel daily work and information with local Commercial Managers - setting goals, delegating, and supervising the team’s performance
- Work closely with our HQ Commercial team in relation to processes, best practices and KPIs and benchmark with the rest of the countries
- Develop new business opportunities, anticipate issues and improve processes. Think out of the box
- Actively collaborate with Operations and Finance teams in order to have very fluent communication and be able to activate action plans or anticipate adverse situations.
- You will have full responsibility for the commercial budget to have all the activities under control and to use it in the best impactful way to generate revenue for Glovo
- Hire high bar talent, help them perform, and inspire them to grow
What You Will Bring To The Ride
- Min of 7+ yr of experience in fast-paced environments (startups, investment banking, top consulting firms, top internet firms)
- Experience leading +5 people cross-functional teams
- Speak fluent English and Portuguese
- You have experience in facing tough negotiations
- You're persuasive in the most pleasant possible way and have no trouble selling anything
- A data-driven mentality: taking decisions based on data and using good business judgment when necessary
- You've got good judgment but own up to your mistakes
- You're extremely curious and have a desire to acquire a deep understanding
- You find solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems
- You know how to make things easy when they look complicated
- You're extremely agile and thrive in ambiguous environments
- You are always respectful, kind, and fair. All of your (former) reports speak highly of you as a manager and leader
- You have an ambition that makes some people think you're crazy while inspiring others
- You’re an owner, you have a natural bias for action, always pushing for things to happen, objective and deadline-oriented
