We are looking for an experienced HR Compliance professional to support our EMEA and APJ regions. In this role, you will bring a combination of implementing compliance programs, assessing requirements, strong leadership and relationship building, autonomous execution, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. You will play a pivotal role in standing up this new HR function within Elastic and report to our Director of HR Compliance.This role is full time and will work closely with team members across all time zones. As this role will be focused on our EMEA and APJ regions, we would love to hear from candidates who are based in these same regions.

What You’ll Do:
  • Create and implement compliance strategies, ensuring that the company's activities and operations remain compliant with relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices
  • Coordinate and report on compliance activities happening across the HR organization, ensuring compliance deadlines are understood and met
  • Monitor and evaluate new potential compliance requirements, advising on risks and impacts as well as implementing obligations where needed that align with our company’s approach and risk profile
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners responsible for specific compliance activities (both within HR and external to HR like Legal, Finance, Internal Audit). As this is a new function, building effective work relationships and helping define roles and responsibilities will be important!
  • Scope and build structure out of undefined ideas
  • Proactively seek out ways to simplify, build efficiencies, as well as identify and resolve issues
  Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field or have demonstrable experience, education, and training
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective HR compliance programs, policies, and procedures covering multiple countries in a region and/or multiple regions
  • Extensive knowledge of EMEA and/or APJ regulatory frameworks, laws, and regulations pertinent to the technology sector and key compliance areas
  • Demonstrable knowledge and strong curiosity about employment laws, policies, and legislative trends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including thoughtfully articulating expectations, risk, and mitigation plans to stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable interacting, collaborating, and influencing leaders
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess and address compliance risks and issues
  • Strong project management skills - easily task change yet still have an attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a complex and frequently ambiguous environment
  • A sense of humor and willingness to roll with the punches is definitely a plus!
