The Role:

As Instrumentation Engineer you will be responsible for leading technical and operational activities related to instrumentation specifications, instrumentation installation design, sensors calibration, harness manufacturing and installation, documentation and conformity.

Your Day to Day:

  • Communicate with different Engineering teams regarding requested instrumentation requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the design team developing the Units under test to be instrumented
  • Lead instrumentation design activities (in-house or with supplier)
  • Communicate with Production Organization to align on manufacturing and installation activities.
  • Provide general instrumentation specifications (sensors, diagrams, calibration, data validation, data tracking, data recording, etc.)
  • Evaluate instrumentation installations for functioning and safety.
  • Define, produce, and maintain instrumentation processes and procedures (metadata handling, measurements control, calibration, etc.).
  • Appropriate documentation of performed work.
  • Specific projects and tasks assigned by management.

 

 

Your Profile:

  • Sc/M.Sc/M.Eng or equivalent degree in system engineering, electrical engineering or a related field required.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in a flight or lab test environment.
  • Profound knowledge of sensors (accelerometers, RTDs, strain gauges, pressure transducers, etc.) and their installation specifics.
  • Good knowledge and experience in measurement technology, uncertainty evaluation, and calibration.
  • Ability to drive multiple instrumentation projects in parallel
  • Experience with manufacturing, production and quality beneficial
  • Ability to work with incomplete requirements and anticipate customer needs.
  • Ability to orchestrate work of third parties
  • Proficiency in PLM and CAD systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter and NX.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
  • High level of self-confidence, with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
  • Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, German language skills would be beneficial.
