The Role: How you'll make an impact at Personio

To lead our Partnerships organization we are looking for an Interim Partnerships Director (d/f/m) for approximately 12 months. This role reports directly to Personio’s CRO. The partnerships motion at Personio contributes a significant share to business growth and is expected to drive even more impact across the next years. We are thus looking for someone to secure next year’s goals as well as evolve this part of our business for even stronger future scaling.

The Director, Partnerships (d/f/m) is accountable for growing and strengthening Personio’s partner ecosystem to drive new business growth. Tax advisors and Consulting firms make up the majority of the current partner portfolio, followed by Integration/Tech partners and others. We are growing the breadth and types of partnerships to include strategic partnerships and lead sharing with ecosystem partners. 

The Director, Partnerships will also be responsible for enhancing Personio’s product and brand perception through third-party validation, getting Personio promoted by partners, offering partners’ expertise to Personio’s product development, as well as providing the opportunity for customers to connect with partners from our network that are Personio experts.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Lead a large partnerships team which focuses on Tax Advisors, HR consultants, IT consultants, VCs, strategic partners, and tech ecosystem partnerships (subject to continuous reprioritization/strategic direction)
  • Drive lead generation for sales teams in DACH, UKI, Spain and BNL through the partnerships channel as well as contribution to sales closing (esp. higher conversion rate) through partner influenced deals
  • Work alongside the strategy and product team to develop approach to ecosystem partners as part of broader product coverage (build/buy/partner)
  • Pilot and evolve commercial partner motions and partner programs
  • Identify new partners and set up collaboration with them to increase Personio’s impact in the market
  • Giving useful and effective feedback, actively seeking to improve the entire team by regularly sharing knowledge and mentoring others
  • Stepping up, actively driving team topics and supporting other team members
  • Disciplinary and professional/functional leadership (indirect and direct) of the Partnerships Team
  • Budget planning (topline, cost, HC) for the partnerships team and taking investment decisions, e.g. by region, partner type
  • Setting, and if needed, adapting OTI structure for the team that is most conducive to reaching business goals
  • Setting priorities for and with the partnerships team, both on longer time horizons, e.g. OKRs, as well as guidance on shorter-term decisions
  • Developing and supporting team members’ professional growth, esp. Leaders and Seniors, but also overseeing skill development and career growth in the whole team
  • Representing partnerships across the wider organization and providing partnership perspective for Executive strategic decisions

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • Leadership experience: ideally indirect/larger team.
  • Partnerships experience: ideally both commercially and technically but more important commercially.
  • Vision & belief in Partnerships: make a continuous effort to find and strengthen advocacy internally at Personio and represent Personio towards key partners and in partnerships networks.
  • Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset: thrive in leading exploration, while also being able to design and evolve structure to support scaling.
  • Ability to manage complexity: commercial + tech partners, several partner types, geographies, expanding commercial models, more scaled and trial motions in parallel.
  • XFN/(snr) stakeholder collaboration: understanding of and fostering connections into different parts of the org, collaborating with internal stakeholders to align goals/priorities, solve blockers, secure support.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to flex between audiences (ICs, Leaders, SLT and Exec level, small partners, large partner organizations etc.)
