Your role and team:The Test and Experimental team is responsible for various disciplines covering component, system, and whole aircraft tests. It is set up in three divisions: Testing, Test Management and Test Operations. Our team runs tests that facilitate certification, development, and research for the technology areas: Propulsion Systems, Energy Storage, Structures, Environmental Tests, and Hardware in the Loop (HIL).
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager for Propulsion Testing and will support in test activities and test rig development supporting the design and certification of the Lilium Jet.
As an intern working in the Propulsion Test Team, you will interface with multiple teams like Propulsion, Energy Storage, Custom Electronics and Avionics, and support in test setups and test execution with required focus on electric propulsion systems standards.
Your day to day:
- Support test setup preparation (data acquisition systems, cabling, sensors, etc.).
- Contribute to test methods development.
- Test data post-processing using existing tools and/or custom made scripts.
- Programming custom made scripts for data post-processing and test report automation.
- Support laboratory maintenance and inventory.
Your profile:
- Student with excellent academic record pursuing a degree in electrical/mechanical/aerospace engineering or similar.
- Good engineering technical writing skills.
- Keen to learn about Propulsion test standards.
- You are curious and have a ‘learn and grow’ mindset.
- Target-oriented work style with analytic problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language is beneficial.
- Ability to work a minimum of 6 months full time is required.
- Electrical and Propulsion Systems basic knowledge.
- Modal characterization theory and test is beneficial.
Duration: This is a temporary position, initial 6-months contract during preparations for the flight test campaign.
