The IT Asset Management team has a mission to consistently provide a high level of service to Wayfair IT and to the rest of Wayfair. We partner with our Strategic Procurement team to ensure that our department can meet the needs of our ever expanding employee base. -

The IT Assets Engineer is a member of IT Asset Management - Headquarters. The IT Asset Management function performs in accordance with the governance, oversight, and operational activities of the hardware management practice in support of strategic IT and operational services.

What You’ll Do:

  •  Activities include maintenance of the IT asset inventory within the ServiceNow platform, collaborating with external processes and teams to include IT Procurement, IT Finance, Vendor Management in the collection of critical attributes supporting the effective and timely management of IT assets through their lifecycle.  This includes, but is not limited to; renewals, cost optimization initiatives, process efficiency implementations, internal audit reporting.
  • Development and oversight of the IT asset lifecycle, including inventory, assignment, stockroom, harvesting, and disposal
  • Manage the ServiceNow Hardware/IT Asset Management product to execute or support regular audits of physical assets.
  • Work with Configuration Management on the discovery and maintenance of relationships between Assets and Configuration items operationally supporting IT and Business Services.
  • Create and publish monthly status inventories and usage positions, to include global IT assets.
  • Ensure visibility into vendor risk and compliance positions are supporting around key dates of warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts
  • Responsible for continuous process improvements as well as partner with asset owners to ensure asset information is kept accurate and up to date throughout the lifecycle
  • Maintain required component and emergency spare inventory levels (Stock; where applicable)

We Are a Match Because You Have:

  • Detailed knowledge of IT asset management process lifecycle and understands the competitive landscape from both a business and technical perspective
  • Experience with the ServiceNow Hardware/IT Asset Management product and capabilities in either a vendor or enterprise role
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in IT sourcing or IT asset management, IT service management, information technology, project management, or other IT management experience
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple competing priorities and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
  • Required to acknowledge, respond, and fulfill customer requests in a timely manner
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in an information-technology, Finance or similar; Or equivalent work experience
  • Certification as a Hardware Asset Manager (CITAM, CHAMP, etc.) by a recognized organization is a plus
  • Experience using supporting technologies in support of the asset inventory; CMDB Discovery Tools is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio or equivalent products, such as G Suite
  • Knowledge of Hardware and Software discovery tools and methods
  • Solid track record of proactively initiating hardware asset management process improvements and proactive engagements with all levels of a large company is a plus
  • ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certification and experience in an ITSM services discipline is preferred
