We’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to support our design team in the creation of design and production solutions across different media, including email, web, social media, paid ads, interactive experiences and print design. In this role you’ll work closely with senior designers to learn and develop design skills, while supporting on key projects and creating designs that meet our evolving business needs. While working in a hybrid work arrangement, a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy), and in Hootsuite’s Vancouver office, you will report to the Manager, Design.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Collaborate with the design team to produce concepts and designs for social, email, web, digital paid ads and print-based projects with defined objectives, ensuring designs are on brand and aligned to brand purpose..
  • Coordinate and assist the design team through the duration of the design process  — from concept to completion, design and production from initial ideation through to final deliverables.
  • Modify and revise existing designs based on feedback from senior members to meet the needs of the target audience
  • Create and present design concepts and designs to senior team members and management.
  • Work with project management tools like Wrike, contributing to multiple projects with numerous deadlines.
  • Research and stay up to date on design trends and best practices, continuously identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.    

  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Entry level experience as a graphic designer with a developing portfolio showcasing social media, web, mobile and print projects that you designed and produced
  • Certificate or courses in UX/UI Design
  • Fully proficient skills with Mac OS. Advanced skills using Adobe CC with a core focus on InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Advanced skills in creating designs that are responsive and mobile friendly
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and CMS, UX/UI strategies and processes and Sketch
  • Some understanding of marketing principles and how they contribute to creative projects and strategies.
  • Up-to-date with the latest design trends, techniques and technologies
  • Unbounce experience, page design, production and trouble-shooting skills
  • Analytical skills, including an understanding of key performance metrics for brand and content
  • Creativity and Innovation: seeks new and better ways of doing things, generates original and imaginative ideas, products, or solutions
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs
