As our Lead Accounting Manager, you will take full ownership of our accounting operations and play a central role in shaping the foundation of our accounting setup. In this key position you will steer all accounting processes, lead the in-house transition of our bookkeeping, and ensure compliance with German and foreign financial regulations. You'll act as a key contact person to both internal stakeholders and external partners, driving structure, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the board.You will report directly to the CFO.

A Taste of What to Expect

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements, including consolidated reports
  • Own the full bookkeeping process: from preparatory bookkeeping and general ledger to accounts payables and receivables
  • Lead the transition of our full bookkeeping in-house, including responsibility for all monthly and year-end closings
  • Oversee VAT and income tax declarations, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations
  • Continuously evaluate and improve our accounting processes, including assessment and implementation of new finance tools
  • Act as the key point of contact for external stakeholders such as tax advisors, auditors, and, until inhousing is complete, external bookkeepers, ensuring efficient and transparent collaboration

The Perfect Recipe of Skills & Experience

Core Ingredients:

  • 5+ years of experience in responsible accounting roles, ideally in a dynamic or fast-paced environment
  • Solid knowledge of German GAAP and local tax regulations, including VAT and income tax topics
  • A hands-on, proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and the drive to continuously improve processes
  • Sharp attention to detail combined with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working in an international setting, with the ability to navigate cross-functional and cross-border collaboration
  • Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken

Icing on the Cake:

  • An educational background in Accounting, or a related field, is an advantage
  • Familiarity with IFRS standards and their practical application is a big plus
  • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally with a focus on optimization or implementation
