Legal Data Analyst

As a Legal Data Analyst, you will develop a deep understanding of the wide variety of data Lyft has available in order to support the legal team’s full breadth of needs and obligations. You will be a key member of the team responsible for producing accurate data for high impact, high visibility data requests. You will perform audits, document processes, and be responsive to data requests from legal team members. In this role, you will report into the Manager, Legal Data Analytics.
Responsibilities:- Partner with cross functional teams including Litigation, Product Management, Science, Engineering, Finance and Operations to design a robust reporting and analytics system
- Define metrics and produce accurate reports and analysis in a timely manner to meet contractual and legal obligations
- Conceptualize broad stakeholder requests into well defined action items, thinking through the problem, not just executing
- Collaborate with team members to propose workflow enhancements to promote faster, leaner, and more accurate reporting spaces
- Identify and analyze data sources to meet task requirements
- Work hand in hand with table owners to validate and improve data quality
- Support Legal team with both internal and external data needs
- Proactively identify trends in data reporting, in order to preemptively improve our legal analytics systems and processes
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineer, Mathematics or similar required (masters degree is a plus)
- 3+ years of relevant experience:
- Analyzing, compiling, cleansing, interpreting, joining and staging data
- Delivering business intelligence and data visualization dashboard solutions
- Must have experience working with legal departments
- Candidate should be a SQL expert; must be able to optimize queries and join datasets efficiently
- Proficiency in advanced SQL using Presto/Hive - able to write structured, complex and efficient queries on large data sets
- Experience with Python/R or other statistical programming language
- Knowledge of ETL concepts and data warehousing procedures, knowledge of Airflow
- Candidate should have an analytical mindset and problem solving aptitude in order to appropriately determine whether objectives and goals have been met
- Ability to multi-task effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines
- Ability to communicate complex concepts factually and succinctly to users of all technical backgrounds
- Drive to provide accurate results as quickly as possible and continuously iterate

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $77,000 - $96,250. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
