The IP team at Pure Storage is seeking a highly motivated team player to join our Intellectual Propertyteam as Legal Program Manager. This exciting and challenging role will report to our Legal Director of IP& Product to support all aspects of our global IP portfolio management. While skill, experience, andknowledge are vital requisites of this role, the best candidates are personable, organized, and willdemonstrate the ability to act with efficiency, flexibility, and creativity.

Responsibilities include:● Directly support our IP legal team to develop a robust patent portfolio● Work directly with US based IP team and US based Outside Counsel, attending weekly meetingsremotely to maintain strong communication channels, and traveling to the US at least once per yearto meet with full legal team● Maintain a patent database and ensure completeness and accuracy, track important due dates anddeadlines, including data audits and updates as required ● Manage prosecution tools and workflows (particularly with IPfolio) and docket & generate reportsand analyze data as needed● Work closely with outside counsel and inventors at each stage of patent preparation andprosecution, Scheduling of meetings for disclosures and patent application reviews (e.g. manageinvites, set agendas, take meeting minutes, manage next steps and owners)● Run and coordinate invention harvest sessions with India based Engineering teams● Oversee and administer the high-touch quarterly inventor awards program for the India basedinventors, including a yearly Patent Awards event and yearly patent training week● Communicate internal reporting to keep inventors and leadership up to date on program status andindividual inventions● analyze and recommend internal process improvements, ● Rally stakeholders and engineering teams by building relationships with local teams, respondingquickly to questions and requests● Secure signatures and required documents/forms as needed, bonus if certified to file IndianProvisionals and/or secure foreign filing licenses● Conduct quarterly DCMA research and takedown requests● Be the main point of contact for MaxVal IDS vendor managing the production and filing of IDSdocuments by MaxVal IDSAlong with other administrative, technical, and project management responsibilities as determinedby the IP & Product legal director.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

Engineering undergrad + law degree

● 9+ years relevant working experience, preferably with law firm and in-house experience.● Understanding of US & Foreign patent prosecution in all phases, and the ability to apply suchknowledge of and skills to complete a wide range of tasks● Experience with IPfolio IP management system, SimpleLegal e-billing system, Microsoft Office and G-suite applications● Substantial experience and knowledge of USPTO procedures.● Proactive and team-oriented approach to problem solving and communication.● Experience working with various, cross-functional, internal and external groups● Results-driven, innovative thinker with the ability to organize & prioritize numerous tasks underresource constraints● Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage documents from multiple sources,multi-task, and prioritize● Must work well independently, be self-motivated - follow-up and follow-through skills essential● Strong work ethic and pride in work product● Can do attitude with a sense of humor!
