As part of the Tripadvisor Localization QA team, you will contribute to Localization QA initiatives across 23 languages and 37 non-English Points of Sale (POS) to ensure we deliver a great user experience for travelers all around the world. You will be an integral part of the existing Localization QA operation, play a central role in bug management and bug solving, and make big contributions to the continuous process of delivering a high-quality global user experience. On the Localization team, you will solve problems that impact millions of travelers around the world. The Localization QA Coordinator role will report to the Localization QA Manager and will work, partially remote and partially onsite at Tripadvisor HQ in Needham, MA.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Own end-to-end bug management for as many as 23 languages and 37 points of sale available on TAG (Tripadvisor Group) on all platforms. This means triaging, investigating and solving all localization issues reported via regular test cycles.

  • Become a subject matter expert in diverse areas of the product and use this knowledge to efficiently solve problems.

  • Conduct regular testing on the existing product and new features to ensure fixes and corrections have taken effect.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the Localization team and across business units to deliver solutions and meet targets.

  • Communicate clearly, proactively and transparently, resolve conflict and pursue feedback quickly and effectively.

  • Be receptive to constructive feedback and use it to continuously improve your own performance.

  • Measure, track and present successes and findings on a regular basis to ensure that you are moving toward defined goals.

  • Provide support to our Localization Coordinators by taking on additional duties in this area such as coordinating translation projects and stakeholder query management when needed, e.g. for PTO and time zone coverage.

  • Contribute to overall Localization team initiatives to identify process and tool improvements, efficiency opportunities and support their implementation.

 

What we are looking for:

  • A degree (Bachelors or higher) in 1) Language or Translation (e.g. Modern Languages), 2) an international field, possessing strong language skills, or 3) Business/Project Management, possessing strong language skills.

  • At least 1 year of related work experience.

  • Experience in QA, Localization, or both is a strong bonus.

  • Good understanding of localization principles.

  • Understanding and experience of working with translation management systems is a strong bonus.

  • Experience of working alongside diverse and cross-functional teams and comfortable working with languages other than English and across time zones.

  • A hard-working, dependable individual with experience in fast-paced working environments.

  • Excellent time management skills and drive to meet stringent deadlines.

  • Detail-focused and hands-on.

  • Adaptability to ongoing changes and shifting priorities. Able to work with moving parts across multiple projects.

  • Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • A great team player who works well in collaborative situations.

  • Readily accepts feedback, acknowledges mistakes, learns from them, and always moves forward productively.

  • Data analytics skills are a bonus.

  • Native bilingual proficiency in languages other than English is a strong bonus, with a strong preference for German and/or European languages.
