Elastic is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our Corporate FP&A team, responsible for both Corporate planning and G&A finance support. You will report into our Sr. Director, FP&A.

We are looking to add an individual to the team who has experience either supporting a business unit from a finance perspective and / or experience in Corporate FP&A. The ideal person will be able to solve unstructured problems, have strong work ethic, possess attention to detail, have excellent communication and organizational skills and high integrity.

About the Team

The Corporate FP&A team is responsible for managing the overall P&L in terms of financial reporting, forecasting and planning. Some of the key activities performed by the team include revenue, cash flow and stock-based compensation forecasting, executive level reporting on the consolidated P&L, setting annual budget targets, and maintaining the financial planning system.

What You Will Be Doing:

This is a high visibility, expansive role where you will work across two main areas:

  • G&A Finance, supporting senior leadership with decision making around headcount planning and resource allocation. Key activities include working with leadership on the budgeting process, delivering monthly forecast updates, overseeing the monthly close as it relates to G&A expenses, and performing ad-hoc analyses, as necessary; and
  • Corporate FP&A, including cash flow forecasting, equity compensation modeling, P&L consolidation, administration of the financial planning system, and other critical workstreams.
  • In Addition, You Will:
    • Manage and forecast spend for certain G&A functions, which will involve working with senior leaders to understand investment needs while ensuring budget accountability.
    • Assist with the monthly financial close, including accruals, budget-vs-actual analysis, and executive reporting, among other activities.
    • Prepare various analyses around spend, gross margin, and operating margin.
    • Collaborate with your FP&A teammates and others in the organization on cross-functional projects.
    What You Bring Along:
    • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, preferably in a SaaS company
    • Experience building complex financial models, extracting insights, and crafting executive-level communications
    • Experience analyzing large datasets
    • Experience using software tools such as Tableau, Adaptive, Salesforce, and NetSuite.
    • Strong work ethic who is willing to work both autonomously and collaboratively
    • Public company quarterly close and reporting experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to distill topics for executive level consumption

    Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

    The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

    These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

    An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
