On Marketing Strategy & Operations, we work across marketing channels and frequently interface with marketing leadership. We own the learning agenda, performance tracking / reporting, forecasting, target setting, and ad hoc insights generation for the global Marketing organization. We partner closely with Marketing channel teams, Marketing Data Science, Marketing Data Engineering, and Finance as part of our remit.

In this role as a Manager, you will lead Marketing’s ad spend forecasting, budget-setting, and cost governance processes. Your work and leadership will directly contribute to Wayfair Marketing’s ambitious growth and brand-building goals on a global scale. You are highly analytical, data driven, detail oriented, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and effective in balancing multiple priorities.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the ad spend forecast and budget setting processes for Marketing, with a focus on the Wayfair US business
  • Build and run cost governance processes for non-direct Marketing ad spend for the global Marketing organization
  • Collaborate directly with and regularly provide updates to senior leadership, owning the performance narrative.
  • Work collaboratively on projects with cross-functional groups, including Analytics, Finance, Pricing, Data Science and Data Engineering
  • Develop new analyses and processes to support the ongoing management of ad spend and efficiency, helping steer towards goals for global Marketing financial outcomes
  • Know the numbers behind Marketing’s spend and efficiency inside and out; work directly with channel leads to ensure outcomes are aligned with the overall strategy

What You Need:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a heavily quantitative and analytical role (in finance, data analytics or strategy field with a track record of success)
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience turning complex and disparate data sets into business strategy (experience in building and adapting financial models is a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with demonstrated experience effectively working with and influencing senior level and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to identify value and prioritize work while collaborating with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
  • Ability to independently scope ambiguous problems and execute on solutions
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment with a dynamic bias for action
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience, either formal through direct management or informal through project management or mentorship, with the ability to cultivate a collaborative team culture.
