We are looking for a seasoned Strategy & Planning professional to help us build and lead the Sales Development (SDR) Strategy & Planning function worldwide. You will be responsible for learning the ins and outs of each major MongoDB Sales Business, play a critical role in building relationships with the senior leadership team, developing the team, and drive forward initiatives that will help us unlock sales revenue. The ideal candidate understands what makes a team thrive, has a strong interest in data analysis to tell stories, and thrives in shaping narratives that are conducive to helping our Sales team grow.
Our Strategy and Planning team, part of our broader Sales Operations team, strives to help our field organizations move quicker and grow faster. This function acts as business partners to our Senior Leaders. You have an opportunity to embed yourself as the “COO” of the SDR business, and your responsibilities will range across a variety of strategic initiatives including analyzing inefficient business processes, piloting new mechanisms, removing obstacles, and analyzing data to come up with meaningful business insights.
The Opportunity
As the Manager of Strategy and Planning, you will:
- Help drive the analytical rhythm of our business including quarterly business reviews, org deep dives
- Partner with Senior leadership to drive customer, market and segment specific analyses to uncover insight
- Become an expert in business and partner rules
- Conceptualize and pilot new programs to test the effectiveness of various roles / comp plans / engagement mechanisms
- Participate in quarterly and annual business planning for the SDR teams
- Collaborate with various business units to drive productivity and headcount scenario analyses
The Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of work experience in either Sales Strategy / Consulting / Sales Operations / Analytics
- You have experience supervising direct reports
- Bachelor’s Degree with a quantitative focus (Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)
- Effective communicator who can break down convoluted technical concepts into simple business vernacular
- You are a spreadsheet wizard with the ability to manipulate and analyze data
- You can navigate your way around Salesforce.com with relative ease
- Strong SQL knowledge with an ability to write SQL queries to extract data needed for analysis is preferred but not required

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.
MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$90,000—$176,000 USD
