The Marketing Operations team plays a key role in Toast’s Go-to-Market Strategy. By conceptualizing and executing operational strategies and plays, the team supports the full range of Marketing functions. The team is a resource to team members and thought partners in developing strategy and technology investments.

The Marketing Ops Manager will drive key projects forward for the Marketing and Go-to-Market organization ensuring our customers & prospects receive the right message, at the right time, in the right channel. They will work cross functionally with our technical teams (IT, Systems, Engineering), Product teams and Marketing Operations team members to implement and operationalize digital messaging channels. This person will report to the MOPs Platform Operations Lead and partner closely with all MOPs teams (Platform Ops SME’s, Planning, Campaign Operations and Optimization) to build, standardize, troubleshoot & enable end-users within our digital messaging tools.

 

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • Partner with Marketing stakeholders to operationalize Toast’s journey orchestration tool, powering multi-channel customer journey campaigns.
  • Support Marketing program owners in balancing current state build needs with future state scalability, change management and health of systems.
  • Support the Campaign Operations team delivering on complex builds across digital messaging tools/channels (e.g. Email, In-Product Messaging, SMS, etc.)
  • Enable our Marketing end-users within digital messaging tools through standardized implementation, process development, documentation/training and more.
  • Work closely with Marketing Operations and Marketing’s Communications Governance & Strategy Leads to enforce and perform governance and quality control activities ensuring  campaign delivery health.
  • Collaborate on project planning, prioritization and understanding of scoping level of effort and personal capacity. 
  • Communicate effectively across teams to drive projects forward and share progress
  • Collaborate across teams to improve processes that drive speed and efficiency in systems.

 

Right Ingredients: (Requirements)

  • 4+ years of experience in a systems / operational role, working with Marketing tech and/or stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of experience using journey orchestration, SMS, IPM and email tools (Braze, Customer.io, Twilio, Pendo, etc)
  • Strong proficiency with Braze (Canvas Flow, Liquid Language, content blocks)
  • Strong front end development skills (Javascript, HTML, CSS)
  • Experience with creating In-app modal campaigns, email templates, and other (email, push, IAM, SMS, etc)
  • Experience in the setup and use of a Customer Data Platform (Tealium, Segment, etc) information to support the creation of multi-channel communication journeys for prospects and customers 
  • Experience using other marketing technologies (Drift, Chili Piper, Marketo) and integrated CRM’s (Salesforce.com).
  • Adaptable and comfortable with a fast-paced work environment, works well under deadlines.
  • Approaches work as an accountable stakeholder with empathy and understanding for colleagues and target audiences.
  • Strong proficiency with system integration principles, experience troubleshooting points of system failure.

 

SPECIAL SAUCE: (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)

  • Experience managing contractor relationships
  • Some scripting ability: JavaScript, C#, Python

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$92,000—$147,000 USD
