The Difference You Will Make:

We’re seeking an experienced and versatile senior data lead to support a Communications team that is building and scaling a multi-faceted social media and influencer program. The Senior Social Measurement & Analytics Lead will develop and lead the architecture of a strategic and detailed measurement and insights program that supports both social and influencer work. This role will be responsible for developing a robust program that includes elements such as custom social metrics specific to Airbnb, weighted metrics (channel specific), and a process for regular reporting on social and influencer for multiple internal audiences. 

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong data and analytics background, preferably with deep experience supporting either a comms and/or marketing team. This person is curious, engaged, positive, and detail- and solutions-oriented. The world— and thus our industry— is changing quickly so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with responding promptly and changing course as needed when priorities and reporting needs shift. 

This role will be a key player in helping us evolve our social and influencer strategies based on data and insights. This role will be expected to be highly collaborative, and work regularly with multiple stakeholders and cross functional partners across BizTech, FP&A, Marketing, Communications, and Social Listening. 

The right candidate will already be recognized as a leader in the data and analytics field at this level, with a proven track record of using a range of strategies and disciplines to solve complex and ambiguous measurement problems for comms and/or marketing teams. This person will also use their considerable experience with data and insights storytelling to influence large-scale strategic programs. 

You must be comfortable working in a global company, delivering counsel and guidance to senior leadership across the team and organization. The successful candidate will have solid experience of creating internal advocacy and influencing  multiple senior audiences on hard to communicate topics.

A Typical Day: 

  • Develop a robust social and influencer measurement and analytics program for the Communications team. This program will include key metrics we should be measuring against (including custom/blended metrics, as needed), reporting frameworks and cadence,  and a plan for how to communicate the insights derived from these metrics. 
  • Lead the advancement of measurement capabilities and tools to better analyze and access data. 
  • Responsible for extracting actionable insights (creative, strategic, channel-specific)  from social media data collected from various sources, including Sprinklr, native social media platforms, and agency reports. 
  • Lead the development of compiling data and insights consistently with internal and external analytics partners to drive planning processes and priorities. 
  • Develop a POV on overall brand social media sentiment, including consistent tracking, and communication of sentiment metrics as they relate to brand health. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver social and influencer metrics and insights for key campaigns.
  • Develop a foundational model around how we measure the impact of key campaigns in order to show how results translate into business impact e.g. creating a comprehensive data structure to easily show the monetary value of organic awareness driven by social and/or influencer and celebrity buzz.
  • Oversee the development of customized data tables and dashboards that showcase and analyze social and influencer program results. 

Your Expertise:

  • 10+ years of social and influencer measurement experience and background (ideally a combination of in-house, vendor, and/or agency) 
  • Finance and business intelligence background strongly preferred 
  • Experience in communicating how social and influencer metrics directly contributes to business objectives
  • Robust expertise in crafting insights and action from social and influencer metrics and reporting, including synthesizing results for executive-level audiences
  • Expert-level proficiency with creating queries, building dashboards, and evaluating data from dispersed social listening tools/platforms, including Sprinklr, Brandwatch, and Tubular 
  • Deep understanding of ever changing social and influencer landscape and how to measure these channels effectively and holistically for maximum impact
  • Proven track record for seamlessly working across different teams and partners
  • Ability to provide clear plans and strategies for sophisticated and nuanced measurement asks 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Positive and collaborative personality and a commitment to ensuring all activities undertaken are as successful as possible
  • Extremely capable in independently structuring and managing fast-paced and sometimes complex workflow and priorities

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Pay Range$172,000—$243,500 USD
