About the team:
The Business Operations Enablement & Communications team creates programs that drive enablement and adoption for internal technology and process changes to our employees and contractors across Okta. In addition, the team leads departmental communications programs and events. This team is part of the broader Business Operations Strategy and Operations team.
About the Role:
The Media & Communications Intern will support the Business Operations department’s internal communications work, as well as the company’s enterprise IT, Security, and Business programs/projects. The Media & Communications Intern will help to create impactful written and visual communications deliverables.
The role requires strong skills in prioritizing and juggling multiple commitments, outstanding collaborations. You will partner closely with Business Operations (BizOps) and Business Technology (BT) teams, Business Stakeholders, and other communication and enablement teams across Okta.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Expand your knowledge of specialized teams within Okta
- Expand your knowledge of Organizational Change Management, Enablement, and Communications

- Contribute to key projects that will directly impact our department- and company-wide priorities
This role will report into the Director of Enablement and Communications and requires demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
You will participate in various aspects of communication strategies and material development, including:
- Developing and distributing internal communication and project communication materials
- Contributing to internal brand strategy efforts and communication channels, including our department intranet site, newsletter, all hands, videos, blog posts, and presentations
- Supporting the organization and execution of internal events
- Contributing to employee engagement initiatives
- Assisting with project tracking
Qualifications and required skills:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Multimedia/Graphic Design, or related field (Dec. 2024 or May/June 2025 Grad)
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and act as a trusted team member when handling sensitive and confidential company information
- Demonstrated ability in developing and delivering communications to all levels in an Organization and external audiences through various channels
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and experience in managing a variety of communications platforms to deliver messages through simplicity, storytelling, and with impact
- Experience building or drafting online content and using design programs, strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively independently, as well as part of a highly collaborative team
- Ability to project manage multiple competing priorities and excellent time management
- A blend of curiosity, analytical thinking, creativity, flexibility, adaptability and the relentlessness to drive projects to completion
- Willingness to learn and excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge in working with collaboration tools (Confluence, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, Asana, Slack, Zoom)
- Experience with design and video editing tools (Adobe, Canva)
Bonus points if you have the following:
- Experience with multiple communication and engagement channels including social media, intranet, etc.
- Previous internship in Marketing, Communications, Media, or Multimedia/Graphic Design
- Graphic design knowledge
- Events management experience
