Media Director, Local OOH & Print

You will:

  • Work with local activation lead, account leads, local planning leads, and marketing science counterparts to guide the local buying team in establishing attainable media objectives for media campaigns, and outlining the plan/necessities to achieve those
  • Ensure OOH/Print activation team’s delivery against key milestones, and work with OOH/Print Associate Director and Supervisor to manage timelines for buys, negotiation, live dates, and reporting
  • Train and assist in the development of AMP, Planner, Sr Planner, Supervisor and Associate Media Director media skills and growth
  • Manage AMP, Planner, Sr Planner, and Supervisor work output and volume
  • Oversee communication for planning team in day-to-day questions and developing appropriate courses of action, and ensure it ladders to longer term vision and broader context
  • Guide the exploration of inventory options and innovative alternatives and develop media solutions, demonstrating strategic thinking, creativity, and solid decision-making
  • Takes nothing at face value and pushes partners to elevate and innovate programs creating first-to-market experiences
  • Analyze historical and current campaign results to optimize learning and ensure continuous improvement
  • Oversee how partner relationships and buy delivery are managed by Associate Director, ensuring strong level of accuracy
  • Accurately manage the team’s investments and SOX compliant purchase authorization process
  • Compile and interpret media research for use in media plan development
  • Support team in the presentation of media opportunities and recommendations internally and to clients
  • Maintain responsive working relationships with internal media planners, account/PM teams, creative teams, and other media contacts
  • Stay apprised of new opportunities by meeting with media/vendor representatives on an ongoing basis; Formulate POVs
  • Maintain knowledge of current media industry issues and trends
  • Guide the development of competitive analysis in order to gain knowledge of the competitive marketplace

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, communications or related field
  • 10+ years of media activation and buying experience with local media, inclusive of OOH, digital/programmatic OOH, events/sponsorships, and print
  • Expertise in leading the negotiating and buying of local OOH and print media, and maintaining strong relationships in the space
  • At least five years management experience required
  • Proven analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills, and developing those in others
  • Proven TV and Radio media buying and negotiation skills, and developing those in others
  • Expertise in being a leader in the media planning, buying, and reporting process
  • Expertise leading the buying and negotiation of OOH, dOOH, pOOH, Newspapers, Magazines, local publications, and digital extensions
  • Event and sponsorship experience are a plus
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and lead the team effectively to meet deadlines, objectives, and work collaboratively. Ability to effectively manage expectations is a must.
  • Proficient in proprietary analytics and syndicated research tools
