Your mission

We are looking for a Senior Product Owner (PO) to support our conception and development of MLOps software products.You will be part of the MLOps Engineering team, which follows the mission to foster the adoption of MLOps Principles and best practices, in line with compliance requirements (e.g., the proposed EU AI Act). The team belongs to the MLOps group alongside colleagues working on ML processes, trustworthy AI, and infrastructure, but also with other teams inside appliedAI, as well as public communities.

Your key activities will include: 

  • Engage cross-functionally with the community, customers, end-users, and other stakeholders, to ensure a user-centric approach 

  • Investigate the challenges and pain points of our community and propose tools and features with compelling value propositions to accelerate the adoption of MLOps principles. 

  • Assume the role of the PO for developing our MLOps tools using Agile methodologies to drive software products through the entire lifecycle. 

  • Together with the development team, craft a compelling vision, build a roadmap and break it down into Sprint increments. Ensure transparency and alignment between stakeholders through living artifacts. 

Your profile

  • You are an experienced  product owner or product manager with a Learner's mindset 

  • ~ 2-3+ years of proven product management experience building/scaling products in an agile, high-growth environment in the software space. Prior experience encompasses roles such as Product Manager, Product Owner, or Software Developer, in B2B or B2C product development. 

  • Your interdisciplinary profile covers the customer and business perspective, as well as the product/agile methodologies to bring a product to life and maintain it.

  • You fluently communicate in English (spoken and written).

Advantageous to have:

  • Understanding of AI and Machine Learning and its productization

  • Experience in the management of open-source software communities

  • Interest (and ideally first touchpoints) with AI regulation and compliance, e.g. the EU AI Act.

  • Lead activities on developing specific assets such as a cross-industry AI use case library, international AI startup landscape or AI experiences (i.e. demonstrators to showcase AI potentials) aiming for know-how transfer and sharing within the public German and European AI ecosystem.
  • Support in creating collaboration and partnerships on developing the above topics and assets with selected AI initiatives world-wide (e.g. AI Sweden, AI Singapore, GPAI), national AI initiatives like appliedAI Initiative or Innovation Park AI, or more general innovation and venture platforms such as UnternehmerTUM.
  • Active communication across different channels and formats (e.g. articles and podcasts, workshops and talks on selected conferences)
  • Free membership at the UnternehmerTUM MakerSpace to realize your personal projects using any machine from 3D printers and embroidery machines to a wood and metal workshop, powder coating and water cutting.
