Job Description: 

We are looking for a Manager who will lead inbound logistics and provide oversight for our team executing all aspects of freight processes. The Manager will help us increase performance, capability, robustness, and sophistication of our inbound supply chain, while supporting our offshore logistics coordinator team. As part of the Procurement team, you will play a key role in improving our costs, ingredient quality, supply chain reliability, and product innovation - helping us deliver the best possible value to our customers.

You will... 

Own the flawless execution of the operations plan for your category/team. We aim to have 0 missed boxes, 0 ingredient subs, and 0 costing overages due to procurement related misses.  Ownership includes leading thorough and timely discussions to ensure we are on track to plan across all buyers and SKUs.  Coach the team on effective communication and problem solving strategies.  Escalate problems quickly, brainstorm resolutions broadly using all resources, and drive improvements.

 

  • Guide team development and culture
    • Manage and own development of  team of 4-15 individuals in the US and abroad, including skip levels
    • Be intentional about attitude, approach, communication style, and positivity
    • Actively coach, develop and retain talent
    • Lead hiring for logistics roles within the larger procurement operations team
    • Delegate effectively
  • Manage escalations (from procurement stakeholders, production facilities, transportation partners, etc.) quickly and efficiently through a structured approach and effective and comprehensive communication

 

  • Execute weekly operations
    • Manage the logistics process related to our centralized dispatching platform and TMS software
    • Lead a team of coordinators and associates responsible for executing our inbound & outbound network strategy nationwide 
    • Ensure all morning order management tasks are completed accurately and on time
    • Support continuous improvement, strategy, and cost-savings initiatives across our logistics network
    • Analyze complex datasets and drive team metrics across the organization using tools like Google Sheets, Tableau, and Excel - lead a Weekly Business Review for your category presenting on trends and drivers: Identify and track week-over-week trends, with data. Brainstorm solutions to resolve, and work on resolving with the leadership team
    • Capture, manage, and maintain the data integrity within TMS platform
    • Serve as primary POC for DC communications or strategy partner questions, ad-hoc training, escalations, and problem resolution
    • PTO management and coverage for your team

At a minimum, you have... 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant leadership experience within a CPG or transportation company; bonus if experienced in transportation of perishable food products
  • Structured approach and communication style; ability to clearly and persuasively communicate with a large variety of stakeholders
  • Experience leading teams and managing projects; experience working with geographically distributed and/or offshore teams is a plus
  • High proficiency analyzing large data sets using spreadsheets (MS Excel, Google Sheets) and presenting key findings in presentation format (PowerPoint, Google Slides)
  • Experience with TMS and SaaS platforms preferred

New York Pay Range$97,500—$130,000 USD
