Job Description

As Packaging & Sustainability Category Manager for ANZ, you will report to the Associate Director of Grocery & Packaging. You will develop and lead the category strategy, drive process improvement initiatives across Australia and New Zealand for your scope, and act as a point of escalation for operational matters.

What you'll do...

  • Coordinate and project manage the preparation of all Non Financial Reporting data for the NZ market as part of our Annual Non Financial reporting efforts
  • Drive local Sustainability optimization projects and programs across a range of projects including energy efficiency, renewable energy transition, food waste optimization, food donations & packaging innovation
  • Act as the local point of contact for all Sustainability work in the NZ market and contribute to the Global Sustainability Organization Monthly reporting
  • Ensure accurate and on time monthly reporting of relevant GHG scope data including Corporate Travel, Electricity, Water & Outbound logistics
  • Facilitate required Scope 3 carbon reduction initiatives including carbon insetting projects, UX experimentation and sustainable sourcing programs
  • Develop and optimize the supplier network across Australia and New Zealand
  • Create ongoing data analysis & category reviews to drive performance strategically within your category and achieve ambitious targets
  • Develop and align the Category Strategy with budget cycles and report on those frequently
  • Support in providing procurement advice, price updates, reporting, invoice approval, replenishment, compliance & tenders
  • Work closely with suppliers to build strong long-term relationships, including contract executions
  • Solve problems on-the-go in a fast-paced environment
  • Trial and validate new products in collaboration with our Quality and Production teams to improve the HelloFresh offering further

 

What you'll bring...

  • Preferably, existing knowledge of (paper-based) packaging and sustainability practices
  • Experience in running tenders across Australia and New Zealand is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Masters in Supply Chain / Sustainability / Economics / Procurement (or equivalent) Ideally, working within a similar environment and sector (FMCG/Consumer goods)
  • 3+ of strategic procurement/ Sustainability / supply chain / commercial consulting experience (ideally in food, but not a must)
  • Strong understanding of foundational Sustainability concepts including GHG Protocol, Life Cycle Assessments, Triple Bottom Line
  • Knowledge of packaging markets, suppliers and packaging-specific opportunities and constraints is preferred
  • A sound understanding of ANZ packaging sustainability and framework drivers (APCO/NZ Packaging Forum) and government 2025 goals for packaging
  • Experience with supplier relationship management and driving continuous improvements within a category
  • Quantitative and analytical experience, including solid comfort with Excel
  • Proactive, flexible, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment Entrepreneurial and can make things happen, sense of urgency
