ABOUT THE ROLE

Purpose is seeking a Partnerships Associate to join our Global Partnerships team. The Partnerships team is responsible for helping build a healthy new business pipeline so that Purpose can continue to support positive social impact in the world. 

This is a global support role and will contribute to that impact by supporting  staff on business development opportunities, developing resources and conducting quantitative, qualitative and desk research, supporting Salesforce data management, and working with Senior Leadership and other key stakeholders to ensure efficient Partnerships team operations across Purpose offices. 

The ideal candidate is energetic with a positive, solutions oriented attitude. You have the ability to be flexible, pivoting from one task to the next while keeping your eye on driving long term work streams. You excel at prioritization, attention to detail, and balancing your workload with requests from the team members. You are also an excellent communicator, both in writing and verbally. 

This is a full-time Fixed Term position for a duration of 1 year, with the expectation of conversion to permanent depending on performance and revenue. This role will be hybrid and Delhi-based with the expectation of up to 2 days in office per week for collaboration and support. It is offered at the Associate tier and will report to the Partnerships Manager based in India, with a dotted line to the Associate Director of Fundraising based in the US. Given this is a role serving the global Partnerships team, the person in the role is expected to work flexible hours, within reason. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development Support

  • Conduct research and draft research summaries on an ongoing basis to support opportunities across Purpose offices;
  • Attend global and local business development calls, take detailed notes, and follow up with action items, including keeping various initiative trackers updated;
  • Support leadership with presentation building in Google Slides and PowerPoint;
  • Schedule and develop prep materials for internal and external meetings;
  • Provide ad-hoc support in fostering internal connections and disseminating Purpose knowledge by sharing past projects, case studies, and network connections;
  • Collaboration with global Partnerships leads to develop strategic plans for events and conferences, including guest list curation and mining, research coordination, outreach activities, and follow-up processes;
  • Facilitate outreach to high-priority targets by identifying key contacts, strategic priorities, and crafting effective outreach communications;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to curate a select list of external events that align with the organization's strategic objectives and present opportunities for thought leadership.

Salesforce Management

  • Own SalesForce platform management and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure data is accurate and updated regularly; 
  • Lead the training of new Salesforce users;
  • Help manage business pipeline within Salesforce, ensuring information accuracy and follow-up with account owners as needed;
  • Develop reports and generate insights using Salesforce data;
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting for internal and external needs.

 

ABOUT YOU:

The right candidate for this role will have:

  • 3+ years of professional or fellowship experiences in Business Development, new business management, fundraising or other revenue generation–related roles;
  • Proficient English writing and speaking skills; 
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of the development sector, and the key funders and partners operating within the Indian and/or global development space;
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms, including generating reports and insights using the data;
  • Experience in client research and sectoral research (landscape analysis across thematic areas and sectors);
  • Experience with presentation building and proposal/pitch development highly desired;
  • Strong understanding of data analytics, reporting, and knowledge management systems;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proactiveness and proven problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (specifically Google Slides) and Powerpoint;
