We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage and coordinate payroll processes across our European region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multinational environments, having managed payroll across multiple European countries including working with contractors and Employers of Record (EORs). Experience with German and French payroll is a must, while experience in the UK or other EEA countries is a plus. A solid understanding of local payroll regulations, time tracking, and legal and compliance topics in the relevant jurisdictions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Coordination and Management:

  • Oversee and execute end-to-end monthly payroll processes across the European region, with a primary focus on France and Germany.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salary payments, bonuses, commissions etc.
  • Collaborate with local payroll providers and EORs to ensure compliance with country-specific regulations and requirements.

2. Compliance and Legal Expertise:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations in France, Germany, and other relevant European countries.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with local legal and tax obligations, including statutory filings, social security, and benefits administration.
  • Identify and address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues promptly.

3. Time Tracking and Reporting:

  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of time tracking systems across the region, aligning with local labour laws and company policies.
  • Prepare and analyse payroll reports, including cost summaries, variance analyses, and audit reports.
  • Provide regular updates to management on payroll status, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.Proactively follow up with managers and other stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding payroll enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

5. Process Improvement:

  • Continuously review and optimise payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline payroll operations across the region.
  • Lead or support payroll-related projects and initiatives as needed.

6. Requirements for applicants

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on European countries, particularly France and Germany.
  • Experience working with Employers of Record (EORs) and understanding of EOR-related payroll processes.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labour laws in France and Germany (essential), and mechanisms to remain up to date in changing environments
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems (ADP is a plus), with strong analytical and reporting skills.
Education, including special education

A relevant degree e.g. in Finance, Accounting etc., or vocational training
