People Business Partner - US Commercial
The People Business Partner acts on an operational and strategic level ensuring both a smooth overall employment experience as well as the execution and implementation of agreed HR initiatives within their client group.
This role provides key strategic people support to the US Commercial function, consisting of New Business Sales, Customer Success and Integration teams located in New York and Denver. A key member of the US Commercial Leadership team, this role will define and implement against the people priorities for the US Commercial team, helping create an environment where people can do the work of their lives, as well as being a trusted Advisor for people leaders across the function.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partner and be a Trusted Advisor to the US Commercial Leadership Team, building up significant working relationships and credibility through providing HR knowledge and expertise
- Define and deliver key people priorities for the US Commercial team to support the function’s strategic goals and growth plans
- Co-create and implement HR programs/initiatives with our People Team Centre’s of Excellence (CoE’s) across Talent, Organizational Development and Reward
- Champion our People Partnering operating model, educating the team where to best deliver their HR information based on their specific query
- Support business leaders through periods of transformation and change, acting as a change agent with a key focus on organizational effectiveness
- Developing and implementing DE&I initiatives (in partnership with our central DE&I team) to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture
- Manage the complete employment journey and improve HR processes & procedures for the area of responsibilities (career development, performance management, organisational review, employee engagement, talent planning, capability development, promotions cycle, salary review etc.)
- Work closely with our Employee Relations Partner to stay on top of emerging trends within US Commercial and design and deliver HR interventions to address these
- Create meaningful talent and retention plans within US Commercial to assist in the business delivering its goals and ensure key talent is retained
- Work with key corporate stakeholders (e.g. Compliance, Legal, Finance) to ensure communication and cross-divisional work is delivered effectively
- Enhance and build a development culture through designing and implementing L&D and capability development initiatives.
- Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team on recruiting leadership roles
- Build a clear workforce plan for the US Commercial function, ensuring the right role level and capability mix for the function to achieve its goals.
- Aside from BAU PBP responsibilities + working with CoE (both in design and delivery) all PBP need to have the capability to run global projects and take ownership of global topics.
- Directly partner with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) on US employee benefits and employment matters
Who you are:
- Prior experience as a generalist People Business Partner, ideally supporting as sales function who are commission earning.
- Proven experience Business Partnering for Senior stakeholders including Directors
- An understanding of US labor law
- Experience working effectively as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and proactively contributing ideas, views and recommendations for best practices and process improvement.
- Experience working in a exciting, high growth organization with a ability to deal with ambiguity
- High interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to coach and influence leaders through difficult situations
- Positive, ability to work well with a rapidly changing environment
- Strong solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to synthesize and tackle complex tasks autonomously with minimal coaching
- Proven ability to gain credibility at all levels quickly; good demonstrable relationship management skills.
- Exposure across a broad HR remit including recruitment, performance management, talent management, promotions, retention, employee relations and visibility of compensation and budgeting.
- Ability to work efficiently with a high-level of accuracy and great attention to detail, while adhering to tight deadlines.
- Ability to collect, analyse, and distill information for management presentations.
- Pragmatic, results-driven and “can do” attitude is essential.
