We are looking for a People Relations Manager for our Team in Berlin!

As a People Relations Manager, your mission will be to work in partnership with managers and their teams, with individual employees, and with externals to provide services that create a work environment of employee empowerment and involvement in the business. 

You will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing professional guidance on HR issues
  • Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle events, maintaining a smooth experience and compliance with legal standards
  • Build strong collaborations with external stakeholders such as the relocation agency, tax advisor, German authorities
  • Coordinate and prepare the monthly payroll by providing relevant data and ensuring accurate delivery of payroll, including resolving complaints, questions and discrepancies
  • Ensure that P&O records, contractual changes and other people related documentation for employees are processed and recorded
  • Take ownership of P&O systems and policies, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and optimize the overall employee experience
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the People Relations Team, offering guidance and consultation to peers for effective issue resolution and team alignment

You have:

  • 3+ years of experience in People Operations/Relations or HR, preferably in a high-growth startup environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. A master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, CIPD) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of German employment law, works councils (Betriebsrat), and local regulations
  • Expertise and profound experience of German payroll processes, ideally experiences in preparing payroll data
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong orientation towards details and structuring workflows and your own work
  • Knowledge of people operations processes like work permits, BAV, BEM, work accidents
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, German is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Workday HCM tool
